4. LOCATIONSEXPOOverview
For film industry stakeholders, LOCATIONS AFRICA provides an
invaluable INFORMATION EXCHANGE, offering local knowledge, skills,
networks and experience, to unlock resources and enhance research into
filming on the continent. In particular, the show allows filmmakers to scout
locations, gather vital production information and meet key industry
decision makers – including Film Commissions, production service
companies, film sector organizations, independent finance companies,
crew, talent and equipment companies – in whichever African country or
city they are considering for your production. LOCATIONS AFRICA removes
the uncertainty from planning and helps move your film into production.
To stimulate future production, The Locations Africa Event hosts a
unique AFRICAN CONTENT SHOWCASE. This conference sources some of
the books, films, theatre plays, news events and cultural heritage that offer
potential adaptation opportunities for the international market. This will
be supported by a range of events and activities designed to support
increased value for African content.
5. LOCATIONSEXPOOverview
For African governments (at national, state/provincial and city levels) who
wish to grow their economies through the successful harnessing of the
international film industry, LOCATIONS AFRICA is the gateway to
networking, leads sourcing, training, skills and market development, and
purpose-designed certified training.
LOCATIONS AFRICA aims to be the leading business-of-film initiative in
Africa. Lead by Africans, for Africans, Locations Africa aims to grow the
business of filming on location in Africa through the provision of networks,
education, events, guidance, resources and opportunities to International
and African Filmmakers, to African Film Commissions, and to film and
locations professionals across the African continent.
