In this area of Ohio, it seems I have been told, there is the belief that you can be truly converted and then fall
from grace. If that is true, I believe all true converted people should leave this part of Ohio.

If you can lose your salvation, you had better learn how not to lose it. If you made salvation conditional, then
it’s only good as long as you can maintain the conditions of keeping your salvation.

o The question is: Is there a works/righteousness perspective in our salvation?

PAUL ADDRESSES THIS ISSUE IN ROMANS CHAPTER FIVE

Paul has established already in chapters 3 and 4 that salvation is a free gift, by grace alone, received by faith
alone, in Christ alone.

HOW IS SALVATION MAINTAINED IN THE LIFE OF THE BELIVER? HOW DO WE KNOW WE
ARE SECURE IN OUR SALVATION? Chapter five will tell us.

How does Paul tie in the believer into the Savior for eternity? This knot is so secure IT CAN NOT BE
LOOSED. It is tied into six parts.

SATAN’S ATTACK ON THE CHRISTIAN IS TO GET HIM TO DOUBT HIS ASSURANCE OF HIS
SALVATION.

THE FIRST KNOT IN THIS ROPE. The way of securing our salvation is joining the knots in such a way
that they are secure in Christ

1B That which binds together that which has been separated means that I have it today. I will have it
tomorrow. I will have it the next day. I will always have it.

2B Present tense means continuous duration of action. Indicative mood means that is a fact, take it to
the bank. Active voice means the subject is acted upon or doing the acting.

3B There is tranquility of mind; a positive feeling about being secure. Yet it is more than this

5B It is saying. God is not at war with us anymore. (As before when we were not saved.) Now there is

o Means you have been intertwined into, closely twisted together or around Christ’s
righteousness.
o God’s wrath has been removed means the condemnation of men and eternal HELL has been

1B The question is how do we know that this peace will continue? First John 1 “He keeps on
cleansing us from all sin.” The continued cleansing provides for us the maintaining of that
reconciliation.
2B Christ bore our sin and therefore there is nothing to violate our reconciliation.
3B Our Lord made PEACE through the blood of the Cross. Through His sacrifice He binds together
that which separated us from God, so those whose faith is put in Him, are bound again to God in their
new standing with God.

Therefore as a result of having been justified, that is, having been acquitted
of the charges against us and the penalty imposed by law against us, which
was due to our being guilty of breaking the law, the penalty has now been
removed by faith, and now we have peace with God. We are no longer at war
with God, (now God is on our side), through the Lord Jesus Christ, Who
made a complete payment of the penalty imposed by God on us, by His
sacrifice on the Cross. We now stand a righteous person before God’s law.
Thus through whom now we also in addition to peace with God, we have
obtained access to Him. That is we as believers have been accepted by God
and now have been provided admission or the permission or the ability to
enter into the presence of God. God welcomes us as sons and not as
strangers, and this right will be forever. All this comes by faith into this grace
we have available to us all of God’s favor or empowerment to live
supernaturally, in which we stand….

THE STRAINS IN THE ROPE THAT KEEP US SECURE.
THE REASON WE HAVE SECURITY AS A BELEIVER TO KNOW WE WILL ALWAYS BE
SAVED IS DUE TO THE ABOVE FACTS.

1. We have peace with God
2. We have access to God
3. We stand in grace with God
To say a believer could lose their salvation would be to say the work of Christ is not sufficient and/or the
work of Christ as our High Priest is not sufficient. That is impossible.

 Sets these blessings as distinct from and additional to that of peace with God.

WE HAVE
 Perfect tense, we have obtained, past completed actions. Speaks of the permanency of our access to
God, independent of human merit. We are near and dear to god.

 It means providing admission or access (freedom, permission and / or the ability to enter) into the
presence of… right of entry
 A bringing into the presence of the Divine presence. This is not for an interview, but to remain with
Him, to be of His household, and by faith, to behold His face, and walk in the light of his countenance.
 Ephesians 2:18 and 3:12 the only other two times used.
 The Jews knew Exodus 19:9-13; 24:1 You don’t go near God, or death was sure to happen. There was
no way anybody could approach God in the O.T. So access was not a word in their dictionary. Access
was not known under the legal covenant; God was hidden, the veil was not yet removed.
 Few are giving an introduction to the Divine presence and is a lasting privilege. This is not an
interview, but to remain with Him.
SO HOW WAS IT POSSIBLE TO HAVE THIS ACCESSABILITY TO GOD?
 Matthew 27:51 “Behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two…” Why? To have an entrance into
God.
 After the death of Christ, He led the captivity, the O.T. Saints to Heaven.
 Hebrews 4:16 “Let us come boldly unto the throne of God…. To find mercy and grace.”
 Jeremiah 32:38-40 and Hebrews 10:19-22

BY FAITH It is only possible by saving faith that we have been granted this privilege.

 God’s undeserved favor was given freely to us. Hebrews 10:19-20
 Gives us the empowerment we must have in order to live this supernatural life in Christ.

 Once we get in we STAND in GRACE.
 To set, be firm, established, fixed. Jude 1:24.

 The payment of Christ is permanent, and secures the position of the believer to enjoy God’s grace forever.
 Stand firm. We are fixed on this spot. No storm can move us from where we stand.

If the death of Christ could make peace with God, how much more can a living Savior keep you in God’s
grace? 2 Timothy 1:12, Hebrews 10:10-14, Romans 8:31-33

A new convert might be tempted to say, “How long will this born again salvation last?” And they might say, “Is there
anything I can do to lose it?”

Paul would answer in Ephesians 1:13-18. Paul was not only wanting to see the salvation of the human soul but he
wanted them to understand what kind of salvation it was. He wanted them to understand this salvation.

HOW TRIBULATION PROVIDES THE BELIEVER WITH UNFLINCHING STEADFASTNESS

 Hebrews 3:6: God plants in the heart of the believer the power of His Spirit that keeps alive the hope and
rejoicing and the obedience. This is not how to be saved or remain saved. It means rather that perseverance in
faithfulness is proof of salvation.
 Hebrews 3:14: “My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.”

Romans 5:3-5

 And not only [so], but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; and patience,
experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in
our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
 Moreover (let us also be full of joy now!) let us exult and triumph in our troubles and rejoice in our suffering,
knowing that pressures and affliction and hardship produces patient and unswerving endurance.

AND NOT ONLY (SO). BUT WE GLORY IN TRIBULATIONS ALSO:

 But that’s not all! Not only do we experience peace with the holy, righteous, just God. Not only do we stand
forever in His grace, with full access to His throne of grace. And not only do we rejoice in the hope of future
glory… but get this -- we also rejoice in our tribulation.

How can we rejoice in tribulation? Because we know it can never take away our promised glory.

How are we doing today when things go bad for us?

So, the omnipotent power of grace is the key. We stand in this grace, Paul says in verse 2. But grace does not
work like magic. It works through truth. You will know the truth and the truth will set you free (John 8:32) -
from complaining and from paralyzing frustration and from a critical spirit. Grace opens the eyes of the
heart to truth and inclines the heart to embrace it and live by it. What truth? That is what the rest of this text is
about.

TRIBULATION2347Suffering, Trials.

 is preceded by the definite article, marking these tribulations out as specific occurrences naturally expected in a
Christian’s life. Paul did not exult because of the tribulations themselves but because of their beneficial effect
upon his Christian life
 has the underlying meaning of being under pressure and was used of squeezing olives in a press in
order to extract the oil and of squeezing grapes to extract the juice...In Scripture the word is perhaps
most often used of outward difficulties, but it is also used of emotional stress.
 To crush, press together, squash, hem in, compress, squeeze.


Martin Luther wrote that...

Whatever virtues tribulation finds us in, it develops more fully. If anyone is carnal, weak, blind, wicked,
irascible, haughty, and so forth, tribulation will make him more carnal, weak, blind, wicked and irritable.
On the other hand, if one is spiritual, strong, wise, pious, gentle and humble, he will become more spiritual,
powerful, wise, pious, gentle and humble.

KNOWING THAT TRIBULATION WORKTH PATIENCE

 Engage in an activity involving considerable expenditure of effort.
 To accomplish, in this case the “fruit” of tribulation, which is perseverance?
 Means to work something fully out. When you put pressure on something and squeeze it, what’s on
the inside is going to come out. When a believer goes through tribulation, suffering, of any kind in
his life, he knows the thing tribulation will squeeze out of him is something that he desperately needs.
It’s already there, but the trial will bring it out. What does it bring out? "Patience."

AND PATIENCE, EXPERIENCE5281 or PERSEVERANCE (hupo meno)

 To be approved. The process of proving. Proven character. It perfects Christian character.-
 Literally means abiding under.
 The root idea of the word is that of remaining under some discipline, subjecting one’s self to
something which demands the submission of the will to something against which one naturally would
rebel.
 The word has the idea of the ability to continue working in the face of strong opposition and great
obstacles.
 The word portrays a picture of steadfastly and unflinchingly bearing up under a heavy load and
describes that quality of character which does not allow one to surrender to events in one’s life and to
give up under trial.
 It is not the spirit that lies down and lets the floods go over it, but it is the spirit which meets the trial
head on.
 It has the idea that with Christ you can cope with life; it is the strength which has the ability to accept
things, and in accepting them, changes then into glory.-
 Means the spirit which overcomes the world, by actively overcoming the trials of life.
 Romans 5:3-5 summarize the process of Christian maturity and sanctification, which is
accomplished by God’s grace or transforming power. I Thessalonians 5:23-24.

Salvation does not purify your character, you take a bitter, anger, mean person and get him saved, and you
have a bitter, angry, and a mean Christian. That is a transaction that occurs on a Divine side.

What salvation does, it plants in you the capacity to be perfected, and the removal process begins and the
Lord uses trials and suffering and when they come into your life, you rejoice. Why? Because they are
making you stronger and proving your character. I Thessalonians 3:3.

Paul wrote three chapters of Romans about man’s failure before God’s law before he explained the doctrine of
justification. He obviously thought that sinners needed to know the true nature of their lost and fallen
condition. Sinners need to know what it means to be lost, and that one day they shall face the holy and
righteous Judge. They need to know clearly that they have disobeyed God’s law and desperately need a savior.
Those who preach the law and the gospel are preaching for conversions, not just religious followers.


BEING IN THE PROCESS OF BECOMING A PROVEN CHRISTIAN
BELIEVER CHARACTER

CHARLES H. SPURGEON

June 19,1834 in Kelvedon, Essex, England

January 31, 1892 at 57 in Menton, Alpes-Martimes, France

Spurgeon continued to preach there several times per week until his death 31 years later. He never gave altar calls at
the conclusion of his sermons, but he always extended the invitation that if anyone was moved to seek an interest in
Christ by his preaching on a Sunday, they could meet with him at his vestry on Monday morning. Without fail, there
was always someone at his door the next day. He wrote his sermons out fully before he preached, but what he carried
up to the pulpit was a note card with an outline sketch. Stenographers would take down the sermon as it was
delivered; Spurgeon would then have opportunity to make revisions to the transcripts the following day for immediate
publication. His weekly sermons, which sold for a penny each, were widely circulated and still remain one of the all-
time best selling series of writings published in history.


THE PRESENT PHILOSOPHY OF MANY PASTORS AND MEMBERS OF CHURCHES
The church needs men like Charles Spurgeon. Spurgeon was a man that was not afraid to boldly stand for the
truth. Preaching the Word of God was his sole passion. He believed the church’s tolerance of real preaching was
beginning to decline. He looked around at other pastors and saw they were already beginning to experiment with
shorter sermons and looking for different approaches such as shorter messages to be more applicable or relevant.
And to draw bigger crowds. He saw that preachers were beginning to compromise truth and doctrine by
preaching less and doing other things more and more.
But Spurgeon saw the danger of that, and he spent a great deal of time holding on to the truth. And doing so led
the Baptists of his time to censor him. And while at one time he was the most respected preacher now he was not.
It took such a toll on him that it lead to his death.
This idea of whether you should stick to this straight forward God’s ordained method of preaching or move on
to a more relevant kind of entertaining method led to a negative effect on his health and then his life.
As you know, since his death in 1865, some have kept the faith of faithful preaching. Others have of course
questioned that.
The prevailing opinion of the day, please log on to our website and vote.
“Waste less time listening to long sermons and spend more time preparing short ones. People, I’ve discovered,
will forgive even poor theology as long as they get out before noon,” a preacher wrote.
Do you understand the heart of the quote? It is better for the preacher to keep the congregation comfortable,
entertained and interested; even if what he is preaching is not completely biblical. And that I am afraid does sum
up the average attitude of preachers and people in Christian ministry today.
Bad doctrine is okay, but a long sermon most certainly is not. The length of the sermon is far more of concern to
the average churchgoer. The length of the sermon is of more concern to the average church goers than the
content of the sermon.
Where you are going to eat lunch, or what, has more impact than the nourishment of the spiritual soul. Today
long sermons are considered a greater sin than heresy. We are willing to put personal comfort over the very
important virtues: like truth and doctrine and God’s glory. And that kind of thinking is the attitude that could

WE DESIRE this evening not to preach upon this text as a mere matter of doctrine. You all believe and understand the
gospel of justification by faith, but we want to preach upon it tonight as a matter of experience, as a thing realized,
felt, enjoyed, and understood in the soul. I trust there are many here who not only know that men may be saved and
justified by faith, but who can say in their own experience, "Therefore, being justified by faith, we have peace with
God, through our Lord Jesus Christ," and who are now at the present moment walking and living in the actual

THE ASSURANCE OF ETERNAL LIFE IN HEAVEN WITH CHRIST IS SUPPORTED BY
GOD’S ATTRIBUTE OF FAITHFULNESS.

1A SCRIPTURAL SUPPORTS FOR GOD’S FAITHFULNESS

1. Deut 7:9 9Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth
covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;

The thread #4 The Possession of Love:

Romans 5:5 …and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into
our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.


The hope that we have of seeing Christ in heaven does not ever cause us to be disappointed or
ashamed. WHY?

God has begun a love relationship that stretches throughout eternity.

Believers become possessors of love. God deposits in you the Holy Spirit

2 Corinthians 1:22 22Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

So believers are guaranteed salvation by the indwelling Holy Spirit of God in their hearts. The Holy
Spirit produces in us an awareness of the love of God. Therefore we sense the assurance in our hearts
that we belong to Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour.

Romans 8: 14For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

FOOTNOTE: THIS SENSE OF ASSURANCE COMES WITH OBEDIENCE AND IS LOST WITH
DISOBEDIENCE.

 Galatians 5: 22But the fruit of the Spirit is love,
 Ephesians 3:13-19 13Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your
glory. 14For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15Of whom the whole

QUESTION TODAY: Do You Know You Are Saved? Here is how you know?

 God has literally poured out, richly given, like a mightily endless current (Titus 3:6)
 An inexhaustible abundance, and the outpouring continues, of the supply of God’s love .
 Therefore we are secure in that love: Romans 8:35-39 tells us.

We note two phases “Death reigned” vs. 14 and 17 and vs. 12 tell us that death passed upon all men and vs.
21 tells us that sin hath reigned unto death.
 Death is king over the entire human race. Death reigns. Because of sin, death reigns over the entire
human race of people
What about DEATH? Some have tried to describe it, but it is going to happen for sure.

But the question that might come to our minds… WHY?

HOW IS IT THAT DEATH COMES TO ALL PEOPLE? WHY IS IT THAT ALL PEOPLE IN
THE ENTIRE WORLD WILL DIE?
THIS LESSON IS ABOUT HOW IT IS THATALL MEN WILL DIE AND HOW ONE MAN CAUSED THE DEATH TO
COME UPON ALL MANKIND AND I MUST SAY, ON ALL THINGS.

SO THE QUESTION WOULD BE: HOW CAN WHAT ONE MAN DID 8000 YEARS AGO
AFFECT SO MANY?
The answer is found for us in Romans 5:12-21. We are going to see two persons; ADAM AND CHRIST.
BECAUSE OF ONE MAN ADAM, IN ONE ACT OF SIN, PRODUCED AN EFFECT UPON ALL
MAN. And in comparison CHRIST DID IN ONE ACT, CAUSE THE EFFECT UPON MANY.

The sum of it comes in verse 19. . 19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by
the obedience of one shall many be made righteous

 Paul is linking Romans 5:10 and 11 (read) Through one individual we have been reconciled to God.
o This refers to that whole concept of Christ’s relation to the whole human race that has been
expounded in 3:21-5:11.
Therefore this whole plan of salvation, by Christ’s work, all by a single Redeemer is the same principle as
when through the other one man sin entered the world, and, with it, its wages, death.

So we see then one man Adam (and the one sin of that one man), as opposed to him (and to it) the one man
Jesus Christ (and His one work of grace). The one man and his sin and the one Savior and His salvation are
critical to this discussion we are in.

1A ADAM AND THE REIGN OF DEATH: VS. 12-13
Paul is going to give us four steps: WHY IS THE WORLD LIKE IT IS? Why is man like he is?
Why has human history gone the way it has? And why _________ billion people have died.

 Adam just merely introduced it to the human race. That is why it says “sin entered into the world, the
cosmos, into the human system, into human kind.
 1 John 3:8; Genesis 2:15-17, Genesis 3:1-6
 NOW God gave Adam only one command, just ONE, and that is the only thing that kept Adam in a
point of submission to God. And that one thing keeps things different between Adam and God. If there
were no commands and no probations, then Adam would have had the same right to rule as God had.
 And as we have learned when Adam sinned something appalling happen. Romans 5. Sin
entered into the human life. Adam’s sin brought a constitutional change of
ungodliness into his soul
 That which before had been pure, holy, good, no guilt, pure happiness, now has been
corrupted.

THE SIN.
 In the theological sense as used most often in Scripture the word sin describes one's thoughts, words or
deeds which so often miss the ultimate purpose that God would intend them to have (i.e., they "miss"
His will). Stated another way, our thoughts, words and/or deeds fall short of God’s perfect standard of
holiness.

When Adam sinned, the sin principle entered into the human race. So he passed on the
principle of sin. Because God made us a pro-creation race. So what we are is passed to
who we bear.

So every person born of Adam was born sinful. And as time has passed mankind is worse.

 Refers to the inherent propensity to sin that entered the human heart, which in turn made Adam a
sinner by nature. Adam then passed the inherent sinful nature he possessed to all his offspring. Yes, it
was only a single act of disobedience, but it opened his heart to the entrance of the sin (nature,


principle). This same "Adamic" nature is present in every person ever born from the moment of
conception.
 The whole of mankind was in the loins of Adam. All of human history is summed up in
Genesis 3
 Now the Jews understood this principle. It was called “corporative (all together)
personality.

Ezekiel 18:14 “soul that sinneth, it shall die.” Genesis 2:17 “you eat, you die.”

 Death is not natural…. To the constitution of man as created in the image of God.i
 God did not create a man who would die! That came as a penal act, a consequence, punishment for
sin.
 We were never made for DEATH. That is the reason Hell was never made for us. It was made for the
devil and his angels. Not for us. It was never to be our place.

THIS PRINCPLE OF SIN:

 Death does not come because you committed sins, but because you bear in you a sin principle. A

PHYSICAL DEATH. SPIRITUAL DEATH. AND THEN THERE IS ETERNAL DEATH

 Because all humanity existed in the loins of Adam Hebrews 7:9, 10, and have through procreation
inherited his fallenness and depravity, it can be said that all sinned in him. Therefore, humans are not
sinners because they sin, but sin because they are sinners.

You want to know why Jesus had to be born of a virgin? Why He had to bypass a
human father?

 He had to be created in the body of Mary, bypassing the human race. Had Jesus not been born that

HOW CAN I SIN IN ADAM WHEN I WASN’T THERE?

 How can I be responsible for something that somebody else did? I wasn’t there!

Let me ask you this question

 Have you died in Christ? As a Christian are you willing to accept that wonderful fact? Did you
rise in Christ to walk in the newness of life? How did you do that when you weren’t there?
 You didn’t literally die on the Cross. You didn’t literally go into the Grave. You didn’t literally
come out of the Grave

NO DIFFERENT IS IT?

 Somehow we were in Adam when he sinned. Somehow we were in Christ when He died.
 QUESTION? IS IT JUST? I NEVER ASKED TO BE BORN.
 Question: IS IT FAIR THAT MILLIONS OF SINNERS SHOULD BE SAVED BY THE
GRACE OF GOD?
 IS IT FAIR THAT SOMEBODY ELSE HADTO PAY THE PENALTY FOR YOUR SIN
THAT YOU COULD NOT PAY?


Christ Is Far Greater Than Adam
ROMANS 5:13-21 45.67

In Adam there is death and in Christ there is life. We were ruined by the Fall, but we are saved by
a free gift. The text tells us that “the Grace of God, and the gift by Grace, which is by one Man,
Jesus Christ, has abounded unto many.” “Where sin abounded, Grace did much more abound .”
“Grace reigns through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.”

The main point of the text is that what Christ has done for all who are in him is far greater than what Adam did
for all who were in him.
In Romans 5:12-21, Paul views salvation from the curse of Adam to God’s cure in Christ. Adam’s one act of
disobedience brought both sin and death upon mankind. Christ’s one act of obedience, on the cross of Calvary,
brought about the solution to this curse. The work of Christ offers all men not only the promise of the
forgiveness of their sins, but a new identity and a new beginning, in Christ
Romans 5:13
 Sin was still sin during the period from Adam to Moses and people died during that period of time.
Even when there was no LAW man was still accountable for sin. Therefore from Adam to Moses sin
continued to affect all mankind, which was death.

1A THE OUTCOME OF EACH MAN’S ACT WAS DIFFERENT: Romans 5:15

Paul continues his analogy of Adam and Christ, showing how the life that was made
possible for all mankind by Christ’s atoning sacrifice is illustrated diametrically
opposed, antithetically by the death that was made unavoidable for all men by
Adam’s sin. (MacArthur)

2A THE RANGE OF EACH MAN’S ACT: Romans 5:16
Adam’s one sin damned everyone, Christ in salvation can forgive all sin. So much greater is
Christ’s one act over Adam’s one act. Christ does more than just remove the curse, but he
forgives all sin

3A THE PROVISION OF EACH MAN’S ACT: Romans 5:17
Adam brought about the reign of death and Christ brought about the reign of life.
Christ gave the abundance of grace which was much more abundant. His act on the Cross was beyond
the ordinary course of what might be expected. His gift of righteousness was He not only forgave but
He put His righteousness to our account. And Christ gave life with Him. Jesus said I come that you
might have life, a truly meaningful life.

4A THE MOST IMPORTANT FEATURE OF EACH MAN’S ACT: Romans 5:18-19
Adam’s one act caused condemnation for all men. Christ’s one act of righteousness was
justification for all men that would believe.
Whereas, by Adam’s one act of disobedience all were made sinners and guilty of the act of sin;
through obedience to Christ, many will be made righteousness i.e. come to salvation in Christ.
Hebrews 5:8; 10:5-9 and Philippians 2:5-10

Because of Adam’s disobedience, the many were appointed by God to be sinners. They were put
down in the category of and constituted to be sinners. Because of Christ’s obedience, the many will
be appointed to be righteous. Amazing grace that saved wretches such as we!

5A THE ENERGIZING FORCE: WHAT IS THE DRIVING FORCE BEHIND THESE TWO
MEN: Romans 5:20-21
What energizes sin? The Law: What energizes righteousness? Grace
The Mosaic Law is not defective. The Law made men more aware of their own sinfulness and their
inability to keep God’s perfect standard. The Law helps drive the sinner to Christ. Therefore the Law
was good and holy and righteous because it makes obvious to man his need for a Savior.
Okay, if the Law creates in us, shows us our sinfulness, then GRACE that will dwell in the believer
will much more create in us a desire to live more and more to the glory of God inwardly. Christ’s life
is more powerful than Adam’s life. Living the Christ’s life is greater, much more that the old Adam
life.
The Law is a storm that wrecks your hopes of self-salvation, but at the same time washes you up
upon the Rock of Ages. Spurgeon
BUT WHERE SIN ABOUNDED, GRACE DID MUCH MORE ABOUND
Where sin reached a high-water mark, grace completely flooded the world.

A MOST OFTEN ASKED QUESTION OVER THE YEARS IS THIS:

Why did God allow sin to enter into the world?

The answer might be, God has received far more glory and man has received far more blessings
through Christ’s sacrifice than if sin had never come into the world. We are far better off in Christ
than we ever could have been in an unfallen Adam.

If Adam had never sinned, he would have enjoyed continued life on earth in the Garden of Eden. But
he had no prospect of becoming a redeemed child of God, an heir of God or a joint-heir with Christ.
He had no promise of a home in heaven or of being with Christ and like Him forever. And all these
could have only come through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ our Lord.
