The clash of competition may quicken our energies and excite our ambition to honorable strife in our personal occupations, but here, all must be buried and forgotten, save the one noble aim of this organization: the highest good to the cities of De Pere and West De PereInteresting to note that on 2/14/1887, put a memorial to the legislature on behalf of the Business Men’s Association of De Pere and West De Pere, earnestly requesting that body to pass a bill changing the name of Nicolet to West De Pere -- also to Washington to change the name of the Post Office as well.

The outlook is that business will be 10-20% better in 1936. There has been lots of wondering at the purpose of a Chamber of Commerce. Being close to Green Bay, you are interested in keeping your own trade at home. But it is a condition that is hard to overcome. While De Pere people go to Green Bay, Green Bay people go to Milwaukee, and Milwaukeeans go to Chicago to trade. What can a Chamber of Commerce do for my business?
