This document provides an introduction to digital storytelling. It begins with a quote about how stories compress years of experience into brief narratives that are shared with others. The document then provides examples of digital stories created by individuals and students. It discusses how stories are both personal and universal, and how they can be used to tell about one's life, others, challenges overcome, or places. The remainder outlines the basic steps to create a digital story, including deciding on a topic, writing the story, using storyboarding software, and selecting photos, music and other multimedia elements. It provides resources for finding copyright-free images and audio and recommends software for editing digital stories.
