Denotation+ connotation
Hoodie with hood up wearing a backpack+ youths are often linked with wearing hoodies
with the hood up due to stereotypes.
The hood being up also connotes that the character does not want to be seen, as it is not
raining which is typically the reason for wearing a hood.

You see a long shot of a train coming into the station platform- The train connotes the idea
of travelling, this relates to the idea of the character running away.
Denotation+ connotation
The denotation of the picture shows the character’s rough makeup and bruised eye which
connotes that she may have been harmed and is in pain. Also, her facial expressions conveys
the idea that she has been hurt physically, as well as emotionally due to her looking down,
with the lack of eye contact.
The shots of the character running connotes the idea that she is running away from
someone. Also, as she is coming out from the woods/forest this may also convey that she is
trying to escape from there.
