You must complete a “Notification/Approval
for Visual Media” in order to check out media.
This is a new procedure.
Library staff cannot approve the checkout.
The form must be signed by an administrator
before we can let you have the material.

EISD has updated the library catalogs.

11. Pitfalls
It is important to teach students to evaluate web
sites.
Wikipedia is a great place to find preliminary
information or information on pop culture, but it
is not an authoritative source.
The following example shows the hazards of
allowing students to simply Google a topic.
12. Search for Martin Luther King on Google.
Select “Martin Luther King, Jr. – a True
Historical Examination.”
On the surface, this site might look
reasonable to a student. However, it is a
website maintained by Stormfront, a white
nationalist group.
