FOR WEDNESDAY’S GAME
The Carolina RailHawks and CASL partnership offers
CASL players and their families the opportunity to
purchase discount tickets in the CASL Tower – home
of the best seats in the stadium! Don’t miss the
RailHawks as they take on the MLS’ Chivas USA on
Saturday in their quest to win the Lamar Hunt U.S.
Open Cup. The RailHawks defeated the LA Galaxy in
May in front of a record crowd, and if they win in the
quarterfinals, they will travel to take on the winner of Real Salt Lake vs. Charleston Battery. The
RailHawks hold the number one seed in league standings after defeating Tampa Bay this weekend.
CASL has been part of the capital area community for nearly
40 years. It is our goal to give back to the community that has
supported us for so many years. HEART is one way that CASL
provides soccer opportunities for underserved populations
that might not otherwise be able to play. The last clinic was
held this past weekend. Participants were exposed to
instructional coaching time and scrimmages.

It’s a little strange to spotlight myself, but I wanted to
share with you all that I am coming full circle with CASL as
the new Director of Relations. I started my playing days
with CASL in the early 90’s and had an amazing experience as a player with the ’84
CASL Elite (aka the Vipers back when classic teams named themselves). After
graduating from Furman University, where I represented the Paladins on the field for four years, I came
back to Raleigh and coached CASL summer camps and U-11 teams. I’m excited to work with the
organization that had a positive impact on my personal and soccer development. I will be staying in touch
with all of you moving forward keeping you in the loop and up to date on the most important CASL news.
