Communication Device User Research

- questionnaire: asks about personal organisation as well as organisation of a relationship: how much one knows about what the other is doing and when. We brainstormed and came up with several ideas before we found a topic which we both could relate to, which was relationships. We based our questionnaire around the idea of creating a communication device to help improve relationships, to see if taking our idea into the development stage would be worthwhile.

- When surveying, we also talked to the participants about our idea of a digital calendar. Our research reflects the inadequate devices currently available The device will need to be simple to use (like a regular calendar), able to update without much input (things like lecture times, or sports practice can be pre-set to repeat on a weekly/monthly basis) We want the device to be no bigger than a tablet.
- Non-instant communication: couples prefer their methods of communication to fit around their day when they don ’ t have to reply instantly Students: train ticket fares increase closer to date - advance organisation = saving money
