SIMPLE FUTURE
WILL
Use
• We use the simple future to refer
to actions that will happen in the
future.
I will travel to São Paulo next
month.
FORM
• We use the future auxiliary
WILL + PRINCIPAL VERB
and an adverb of time for
the future. Examples:
a) I will sing in the music festival next Sunday.
b) She will see the Pope on December.
c) The students will do the test tomorrow.
d) The president will talk to the ministers after
tomorrow.
e) Will Smith will act in the next Steven Spilberg movie.
f) Slash will play in Brasília at the end of this month.
INTERROGATIVE FORM
• We put auxiliary WILL
before the subject. We
cannot forget the
interrogation mark “?”.
Example:
AFFIRMATIVE >
She will go to Rio de Janeiro on Saturday.
INTERROGATIVE >
Will she go to Rio de Janeiro on Saturday?
NEGATIVE FORM
We write the auxiliary
verb will + not
(won’t).
Example:
AFFIRMATIVE >
She will go to Rio de Janeiro on Saturday.
NEGATIVE >
She will not go to Rio de Janeiro on Saturday.
