What did you have for lunch today?
     Plant Animal
Why do you need to eat?

Where do plants get their energy
             from?

All living things consumer energy!
Two types of organisms
     1.Producers
     2.Consumers
Producers
• Get their energy directly from the sun!
• Use photosynthesis to create food for
  themselves using the sun’s energy.
• Can’t move!
• Also called AUTOTROPHS: makes their own
  food
Consumers
• Get their energy by eating plants or other
  animals
• Also called HETEROTROPHS: must acquire
  energy from other organisms
