6. Somfy Brazil
In Somfy I played a key leadership role in the launch event of a
new product range – RTS motors for blinds. Our target was to
bring 500 people to the event and present the new benefits of
the product and launch our commercial and technical training.
Our market penetration was historically low which we wanted to
change. Our marketing budget was R$ 1 million and we allocated
R$ 300.000 for this event. I developed a communication strategy
for the new product launch which involved creating new
marketing collateral, a detailed and user friendly installation
manual and trainings for installers and sales team. We targeted
200 retailers and 100 architects in the Great São Paulo region
which is a market with 20 million people. I also worked closely
with the product managers and engineers to develop a technical
and commercial training syllabus. Our target was to train 300
people, so we split it into 3 months having 3 full days of training Event management
per week. We achieved 360 people trained. The event was a
huge success with 550 participants, our brand got some wide
and deep exposure and ours sales grew by an additional 15% in
the first 6 months after the product launch and trainings.

9. ICI Dulux Paints Brazil
In ICI Dulux Paints I managed a project which involved the creation of
a merchandising campaign, customer service support and a complex
logistical plan. I created some very creative marketing displays to
support our new commercial TV campaign inside the retailers. I drew
up a plan to implement the merchandising materials into 413 retailers
around the country (Brazil). Considering that Brazil is a huge country I
had to develop an implementation plan which the delivery would
meet all the retailers at the same time so that we could launch the
campaign in the same week around all the regions of Brazil. We
created a complex logistical system with order tracking online so that I
could check the progress of our deliveries and implementation. From
7/11/05 to 16/11/05 we visited 413 retailers. We had 406 retailers Impact & Result
that accepted the campaign with an effectiveness of 98.31%.
The TV campaign and the merchandising materials resulted in an
increase of 10% in sales and brought to the company brand visibility
and commercial opportunities. Our target to this campaign was to
reach 5% in sales and increase brand visibility. We exceeded our target
with the result of 10% in sales which exceeded our expectations.

15. Microsoft Ireland
In Microsoft I had an interesting and challenging project where I had to
identify and create solutions to solve deficiencies in the branding
terminology localization process. The previous process was a spreadsheet
with over 30 worksheets, 250 product names for 35 EMEA languages. It
was not effective and demanded a lot of time. The update of the product
names were done manually and all the information and discussion were
lost. So I identified a solution to clean up the former process and created
an online central data base where all the product names would be stored
and available. Over 8.000 product names were migrated to the new
Process
database tool, generating a glossary which could be used by localizers and improvements
other parties involved in terminology research to submit terminology
queries to terminologists during the loc cycle. It was a successful solution
which kept track of branding product names, provided a central point for
terminology research and made terminology definitions and explanations
immediately available to all users. We reached our target saving many
hours of work and helping reduce or eliminate duplication of effort. This 35
EMEA languages
new tool was an average of 30% faster and 100% accurate compared to
80% for the previous process.
