The state of Gujarat in India is located on the west coast of the country. Having earned the
distinction of being the most industrialised state in India, Gujarat also has a rich tradition of
history, culture and crafts. Even with extensive modernisation, Gujarat and its people have been
able to preserve the rich culture and tradition of the ancient past.
The diverse ethnic
groups constituting the
population of Gujarat
comprise the cultural
diversity of the state.
The varied culture of
Gujarat is reflected in
the unique characteristic
traits of the people of

Gramin Suvidha Kendra
The crux of the predicament
in agricultural sector lies in
providing farmers with
market access and
information about markets
and prices. Real time market
related information indicating
future returns is a big boon
for the farmers, empowering
them to fetch best price for
their produce.
Gramin Suvidha Kendra
(GSK) has been designed as
a single-window service for
all pre-harvest and post-
harvest requirements of
farmers. Each GSK centre
has a series of programmes
conducted year round, which
not only focuse on prices and
GSK offerings, but also give
information on the best
sowing practices, use of
pesticides and fertilizers, government schemes on agriculture etc.
This model makes use of the Indian Postal system, the largest in the world, to create an
interactive platform at the village level. Joining hands on this platform also gave us the
opportunity of working with the Government and multiple corporate partners, thereby making it
an innovative Public Private Partnership (PPP) model with a unique rural marketing chain.
