1. My old machine – I’m going to remove its DVD drive

2. Undo the screws to take off the case

3. Remove the DVD drive

4. Now to take the duff DVD drive out of my machine

5. Undo all the cables and pull it out

6. Put the ‘new’ DVD drive in its place…

7. … and connect it up

8. Oops – forgot to remove the mains cable - not safe!

9. Secure it in place

10. Fire it up. Windows should detect it. (Phew!)

11. Burn a CD to test it. Job’s a good’n!
