Hotel Company Directives
Responsibilities of Hotel Company Morale Community Service
Limitations When Planning An Event No alcoholic beverages may be served within the limits of the Academy or the Stonington recreation area without specific permission of the Assistant Superintendent A request shall be submitted to the Assistant Superintendent, via the Commandant of Cadets, not later than seven (7) working days before the event.  The request should outline the location, purpose, time and duration of the occasion. At all cadet functions where alcoholic beverages are offered, at least twenty-five percent (25%) of all funds designated for the purchase of beverages, for any event or function, must be used specifically for the purchase of nonalcoholic refreshment.
Limitations Cont. When alcohol is being served, food will also be offered. The quantity of alcoholic beverages provided should not be greater than an amount that would provide either 1-ounce of liquor or 12 ounces of beer per hour per person eligible to drink alcoholic beverages according to state law Cadet functions should not be planned around nor be intended to promote or encourage alcohol consumption.
Attendance Policy For Formals Fourth and Third class cadets are required to attend at least two formals. First and Second class cadets are required to attend one formal. Non members of the host class attending a class formal must be officially sponsored / invited by a member of the hosting class. Attendees will not leave the dance until 15 minutes after the departure of the official party.
The Receiving line A receiving line is the row of the members of the official parties who greet guests at the formal All cadets attending a formal dance will present themselves to the receiving line, whether or not they are escorting.
The Correct Uniform For Each Class Formal Military Members: All military members will be in Dinner Dress or Mess Dress uniforms in entirety. Civilian Guests: Civilian guest are required to be in “Black Tie”.  Males: Black tie for males is a tuxedo with or without tails, or a black suit, white shirt, conservative tie combination. Females: Black tie for females is a conservative long dress that extends to the floor or is “tea length,” which is no shorter than three inches above the ankle.
Stonington Lodge Stonington Lodge is a property which may be used for cadet functions Cadets are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the lodge and routing a special to use the lodge through the appropriate venues.
The Habitat for Humanity Program Four to six volunteers participate in the program each Saturday Cadets work on building houses for those who are in need.
Corps Wide Morale and Sporting Events The morale department works on corps wide morale events The regimental special events and the regimental sporting events divisions are responsible for planning corps wide events.
Community Service Events Hotel company is responsible for organizing, approving, setting up, promoting and monitoring all cadet events Hotel company submits excusals, provides meal and transportation, and acts as a liaison between cadets and the programs they do.
The Social Committee     The social committee is made up of 1/c-4/c cadets who are interested in helping to plan and sponsor activities for the Corps of Cadets. The social committee organizes and runs all of these events which include: formals, dances, and other activities.
Big Brothers/ Big Sisters Program The Big Brothers/Big Sisters program allows cadets to sponsor the youth of New London.  Each cadet is assigned a “little”.   The cadets take the “littles” on events and act as a positive role model for the youth of New London.
The Tutoring program Cadet volunteers are organized, trained and transported to events and middle and elementary schools in the New London area. Some of these  programs include: tutoring for success and other programs for the New London schools.
