Lawyers are paid for their insight and ability to translate that insight into words, agreements and documents. While the rise of electronic communication increases the pressure to deliver results, it does not reduce the burden of quality and professionalism. Email attachment handling takes time and does not provide a method to organize or control the order the attachments are reviewed by the recipient. Our team researched possible solutions to the problem. Attachment Manager is a solution. This visual shows a table of contents embedded in an RTF, HTML or Word as document editor email message. The table is assembled using attachment manager. proprietary material Contact usersupport@brco.com about information contained in this slide deck.
Attachments are added directly from a toolbar, which shows the items attached. The source can be the local file system, iManage or other to be defined systems. The selected items are added to the grid where the order and name can be changed to suit the needs of the user. Configuration choices are available. proprietary material Contact usersupport@brco.com about information contained in this slide deck.
These preferences and configuration choices are set through configuration files and modified by the user, as required. Sensible defaults are used. Please note there is an AutoNumber value in the available fields. This AutoNumber is used to order the summary table inserted into the message body and can optionally be used to rename the attachments to match the summary table. proprietary material Contact usersupport@brco.com about information contained in this slide deck.
Based on user feedback to present list of MCC folders and provide quick keyboard shortcuts to filing locations, we revised our FastFolders product in version 4. We now present Outlook style bands and render recent profile in a simple list for users to select the profile. These recent profiles are also associated with a system-define keyboard shortcut. For example, Alt+2 would select the second recent profile. FastPanel take the user experience of FastFolders and applies it to email filing. We have intentionally not pursed the suggestive filing. Instead we are focused on making the filing task, which is required with any system, as efficient as possible. FastPanel and the existing FastFiler toolbar can coexist. proprietary material Contact usersupport@brco.com about information contained in this slide deck.
iManage WorkSite 8.5 server introduces a number of new features including IDOL indexer for workspace and document content, server-side email filing, new file transfer protocol, a queuing logic in the server to support OffSite and email filing, and other features. The 8.5 server will become the baseline server platform. We studied the technical workflow for email filing in the 8.5 server. While we are happy iManage has depricated the sweeper technology to determine what messages have been filed in this release, we remain cautious regarding the extensive server-to-server handshaking required to file a message. This graphic shows the workflow differences between FastFiler and 8.5 email filing. Our view is that simple leads to transparency. Transparency makes it clear to users what is filed and to support personnel how it was filed. proprietary material Contact usersupport@brco.com about information contained in this slide deck.
