8. Erosion and Sedimentation
• Concho River is main receiving stream for majority of
City’s stormwater runoff
• Stormwater runoff increases river flows which causes
undercutting of banks, sloughing and erosion
• Bank erosion contributes significantly to Total
Suspended Solids (TSS) in water (cloudy or “turbid”
appearance)
• Decreased water quality, degradation of aquatic
habitat and increased flooding
