Türk Mühendis ve Mimar Odaları Birliği’ne (TMMOB) bağlı Elektrik Mühendisleri Odası (EMO) tarafından öne sürülen bu ilişkiler ağının özünde, hükümet partisinin “enerji alanında özelleştirmeler yoluyla yandaş sermaye gruplarına rant aktarımı” yapması yatmaktadır (EMO, 2010). Ülkemizde son yıllarda elektrik üretim, dağıtım ve iletim hizmetlerine ilişkin özelleştirmeler sürecinde, yandaş sermaye gruplarının alıcı şirketlere, kenetlenmiş yöneticilik ilişkileri ile sokulmaya çalışıldığı gözlenmektedir. Aydın-Denizli-Muğla elektrik dağıtım bölgesinin 15 Ağustos 2008 tarihinde, 17 yıl önceki ihaleye dayanılarak, devredilmesi öncesinde şirketin ortaklık yapısında önemli bir değişikliğe gidildiği görülmektedir. Bahsi geçen şirkete %9’la ortak haline gelen şirket ve onunla bağlantılı diğer şirketlerin kenetlenmiş yöneticileri arasındaki çarpıcı ilişkiler ağında hükümet partisine olan yakınlıkları medyada sık sık gündeme gelen isimlere rastlanmaktadır. Kenetlenmiş yöneticilik yöntemiyle gerçekleştirilen ve yasal olmakla birlikte, ‘karanlık’ olarak nitelenebilecek bu tür bir ilişkiler ağının Türkiye’de sadece bu sektörde olmadığı düşünülmektedir.
