 Agra is a city on the banks of the river Yamuna in the northern
state of Uttar Pradesh, India
 It is perhaps best known for its ‘Wonder of the World’, ‘Taj
Mahal’
 It is situated in India’s most populous state Uttar Pradesh, about
3hrs of train ride from the Indian Capital of New Delhi.
 It achieved fame as the capital of the Mughal emperors from 1526
to 1658 and remains a major tourist destination because of its
many splendid Mughal-era buildings, most notably the Tāj
Mahal, Agra Fort and Fatehpūr Sikrī, all three of which are
UNESCO World Heritage Sites
 It is a laid back town which is also home to craftsmen
specializing in inlay work on marbles. It is also known for its
carpets, gold thread embroidery and leather shoes

 Road :Idgah Bus Stand, Taj Depot, Ford depot and Inter State Bus Terminal (ISBT)
are the major Bus Stands in Agra and is connected to most of the bigger cities in
