2. World energy outlook
• World marketed energy consumption is
expected to grow by 49 percent from 2007 to
2035
• Coal consumption is expected to grow at 1.1%
per year from 2007‐ 2020 and 2% per year
from 2020 ‐ 2035
• Oil consumption worldwide is expected to
grow by 1.4% per year from 2003 ‐ 2030
• Global electricity consumption is set to
explode to over 30 trillion kWhrs by 2030
growing @ 3.6 % annually

8. Buildings and Energy
• Energy demand is set to increase by 30% in the
next 10 years
• Buildings account for 40% of all the energy used
by humans on the planet
• 60% of human population will be living in cities in
the next 15 years
• It is said that 2/3 of India is yet to be built
It will need over 10 million new homes each year
for the next two decades
• In urban areas, there is growing preference for
working and living in air‐conditioned spaces
• We need to be more energy, water and waste
efficient in buildings of all sorts

9. Our project #1
• Paharpur Business Centre & Software
Technology Incubator Park – a 50,000 ft,2
a 23 year old building in New Delhi, India
• It is a Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Ministry of
Power, Govt. of India, 5 star rated building,
with certified annual average electricity
consumption 2.6 W /hr /ft2
• It expects to be the first retrofit, USGBC LEED
“EB” Platinum certified green building in India,
by December 2010
• Currently there are only 14 Platinum EB rated
buildings of USGBC, worldwide

10. Our project #2
• GreenVilla TM
• A guest house in NCR Delhi, India being
built as a Indian Green Building Council
(IGBC) ‘Platinum’ rated Green Home with a
cost < USD 45 per sq. ft including
furnishing but excluding land cost to be
ready by March 2011

11. Our project #3
• GreenSpacesTM
• Being built as world’s most energy efficient
commercial building of 1.75 million ft2 to be
ready for occupation by March 2014
• It is a reference Flagship Project of the Asia
Pacific Partnership (of seven countries) –
Australia, Canada, China, India, Japan, South
Korea, & USA
• To contribute to reduce cost and improve
energy efficiency anyone can partner with us:

13. Reaching out to Children ‐ our future
• I am a trustee of Nobel Laureate Al Gore’s,
‘The Climate Project – India’
• We are taking the climate message to 1 million
school children in New Delhi, in collaboration
with Delhi Government, by March 2011.
• It will be replicated in other places
