What do you guys feel about all the inspirational “feel good”
songs that have been coming out recently?
I noticed that there have been many songs with inspirational lyrics coming out lately including:
Katy Perry – Firework
Pink – F***ing Perfect and Raise your glass
Lady Gaga – Born This Way
Selena Gomez – Who Says
What do you guys think about these inspirational songs? Do you think this is an attempt to
promote positive thinking and higher self-esteem or is it just a passing trend?

I think both. I think the singers are trying to get the message through that in the midst of all that
is happening in the world, like earthquakes, wars, money, etc, the singers and bands want to
promote that feeling in people that they don’t need to change themselves to be successful, or
something like that. But at the same time, it IS a passing trend, and let me tell you why it is.
Because of reason one. It is a passing trend BECAUSE it promotes positive thinking. So in
conclusion, my personal opinion is that it is more of reason one than reason two; that singers
want people to believe in themselves, or whatever, more than making money by a popular song

By the way, all the songs that you listed above are some of my favorites, because they just
make me feel proud and “conquer-ish”, if that’s how to describe it properly. It was also really
good to know that Katy Perry had a different side than the fun-loving, vulgar, inappropriate side.
It showed that she actually had a heart, and is not as provocative AS we think, and I stress the
“as” because she is still provocative, just not as much as before Firework came out.

I want to try out for the performing arts concert (kind of like our school talent show) and I really
don’t know what song to sing. I want either something kind of funny with cute lyrics or
something slower and more meaningful. The highest I can sing is either Katy Perry‘s firework
or Adele’s Someone like you and the lowest I can do is Hallelujah by Jeff Buckley/Alexandra

Sheeran too! That’s one of the best songs this year. ) Why don’t you sing that? A guy sang it at

The theme is to be able to be whoever you want and still be really confident.
I think the song has a great theme, but i dont sing the song over and over again. Not my type of

cuz you feel no one understands you. ( original) no one else is as special as you, you are
creative(cant be replaced) no one is as good as you,if you died no one could do what you did as
good as you did.
…….though this song’s about happy things i used the words suicide and died, nothings wrong
with me i was just answeting your question
