What kind of media institution might distribute your media
product and why?

2. At the beginning of this project I researched
into the various different publishing houses
including IPC Media, Bauer, and Future
Publishing.
The publishing house I have chosen to
publish my magazine is Future Publishing.
Future Publishing do already produce
music magazines with the likes of Rhythm
and Metal Hammer but their audiences are
very limited as the magazines are less
mainstream. I believe there is then a gap in
their market for a music magazine that
would appeal to a much wider audience as
Solo, although predominantly aimed at
16-24 year olds, will interest people of all
musical preference. There is a wider
potential audience unlike say Metal
Hammer which only appeals to people who
are fans of the ‘metal’ genre.
