– activity = vessel constriction
– activity = vessel relaxation
• Parasympathetic Nervous System (PNS)
– slows HR via vagus nerve

• Leads to vascular damage in essential organs
– Kidney failure
– Stroke
– Retinopathy
– Peripheral Vascular Disease (PVD)
– L ventricular hypertrophy, MI, arrhythmias
