15. Woodbridge Library Floods
Unfortunately due to an overflow of a canal located behind the Woodbridge
campus parking lot, Hurricane Sandy caused the entire lower level to flood. The
library's carpet had to be ripped out, which also meant removal of all of the
shelves and books. Bonnie and Katie have been working out of Room 120 (near
Admissions) and Room 106 (Computer Lab), and have textbooks and laptops
available for checkout. Approximately 20 books, mostly from the Fiction
collection were damaged and had to be discarded. The good news is that the
library is getting an unexpected makeover of newly painted walls and carpeting.
The entire lower level of the campus has been closed since the storm and is
expected to re-open on Monday, November 19.
