5. Rucksack – These are not water proof so use a large plastic bag or proper water proof bags. Use the waist strap to transfer the load to your hips Food – You should share morning and evening meals with your tent partner. They should be as light as possible. Reduce the amount of packaging before the trip. Don’t forget your emergency rations Tent – this should be divided between the group to spread the load Odds and ends – A pocket in the lid is a useful place to keep small first aid items, snacks, pen and paper, money etc. Keep this in a plastic zip lock bag Stove – as part of your equipment you will be provided with a gas stove and fuel.
