Zawisza Czarny
Zawisza Czarny of Garbowo  - (born around the year of 1370 in Grabowo, died on 12 December 1428 year in Serbia). The famous Polish knight, unbeaten in numerous tournaments, was a symbol of all the virtues of chivalry, and especially the honor and keeping the word. He participated in many wars to serve king and country. In Poland there is a saying: Rely as Zawisza, which means to believe someone's word, trusting him to know that; ll never let you down. He was killed in captivity.
 
 
Tadeusz Kościuszko
Tadeusz Kosciuszko was born on 4 February in 1746 in Mereczowszczy zna , died on 15 October in 1817 in Solurze - General Polish and engineer, took part in the War of Independence of the U.S. he instigated anti-Russian uprising in the Republic, Supreme Commander of the National Army in the insurrection in 1794.
 
 
Generał Jan Henryk Dąbrowski
Jan Henryk Dabrowski (born on 2 August in 1755 in Pierzchowie of Raba in Malopolska, died on 6 July 1818 in Winna Gora in Wielkopolska), Polish general,  a participant of the Kosciuszko Insurrection, the creator of the Polish Legions in Italy, the commander in chief of Polish forces in 1813, senator-governor Polish Kingdom in 1815, driving the Army General of the Polish Kingdom 1815-1816. He served Poland, did not give up and fought until the end of its independence.
 
 
Emilia Plater
Emilia Plater (born on 13 in November in1806 in Vilnius, died in December in 1831 near Kopciowo in Lithuania) - heroine of the Polish, Belarusian, Lithuanian, Polish Army captain during the November Uprising. Participated in the November Uprising, the commander of a partisan unit numbering 280 soldiers, several hundred peasants scythebearers and 60 troopers. Fighting in male disguise. She died as a result of hardships of battle, exhausted by hunger, insomnia, fatigue, and at the end of the disease.
 
 
Romuald Traugutt
Romuald Traugutt called Michael Czarnecki (born on 16 January in 1826 in Szostak, died on 5 August in 1864 in Warsaw) - Polish general, dictator of the January uprising, was arrested in 1864 by Russian police and sentenced to death.
 
Generał  Władysław Anders
Anders (born in August in 1892 in Blonie, died in May in 1970 in London) - General of the Polish Army, Supreme Commander of Polish Armed Forces in 1944-1945. Participant of World War I, commander of the squadron, three-times wounded. February 29, 1940 by the NKWD deported to Moscow and imprisoned in the central NKVD prison in the Lubianice. During the 22-month stay in prison he was interrogated repeatedly and unsuccessfully persuaded (even in the Lviv hospital) to join the Red Army. He was released after the outbreak of German-Soviet war. From the 4 August 1941 the founder and commander of the Polish Armed Forces in the USSR, and the summer of 1942 after the evacuation of troops and more than 20 thousand. civilians (rescued from the prisons and camps) to Iran - the commander of the Polish Army in the East. Polish communist authorities in 1946 took away his rank of general and Polish citizenship, which was restored to him posthumously in 1989.
 
 
Stefan Wyszyński
Stefan Wyszynski (born on 3 in August in1901 in Zuzeli, died on 28 May in 1981 in Warsaw) was a Polish Roman Catholic bishop, the bishop of Lublin in 1946-1948, Archbishop of Gniezno and Warsaw and the Polish Primate. Repeatedly imprisoned under Communist repression against the Catholic Church. Passed into Polish history as the Primate of the Millennium. The third May in  1994 was posthumously awarded the Order of White Eagle. Ongoing process of his beatification.
 
 
Generał  Witold Pilecki
Witold Pilecki (born on 13 May in 1901 in Aunus (Russian Ołoniec), died on 25 May in 1948 in Warsaw) - Polish Army cavalry captain, co-founder of the Polish Secret Army, Army soldier, a prisoner and organizer of the resistance movement in Auschwitz-Birkenau. The accused and sentenced by the communist Polish People's Republic on the death penalty, executed in 1948. The accusation was canceled in 1990. Knight of Order of White Eagle. Author of the world's first reports about the Holocaust, the so-called Reports of Pilecki.
 
 
Antoś Petrykiewicz
Petrykiewicz Antony (born in 1905, died on 16 January in 1919 in Lviv) - Polish student, one of the Eaglets Lvov, a member of fighting in defense of Lwow in 1918, the youngest Knight of the Order of Military Virtue. Anthony Petrykiewicz was a student of the second-class of Secondary High School of Lviv. Since the beginning of November in 1918 he took part in heavy fighting with Lions with the Ukrainians. He fought in the branch "martyr", later General Roman Abraham. He was severely wounded defending "Reduta Death" ("Mountains lose") on Persenkówce. He died in hospital at the University of Lviv in January of 16 in 1919. Head of Jozef Pilsudski posthumously awarded him the Order of the Silver Cross of Military Virtue.
 
 
Irena Sendlerowa
Irena Sandlerowa (born on 15 February in 1910 in Warsaw and died on  12 May in 2008. In Warsaw) - Polish social activist Righteous Among the Nations.  Irena Sendlerowa for his work, was arrested by the Gestapo in 1943, was tortured and sentenced to death. "Zegota " managed to save her, bribing the German guards. She was also listed for counterintelligence by the National Armed Forces, as "a vast communist". In the secret work she saved Jewish children. She saved  about 2.5 thousand of children.
 
 
Jan Paweł II
John Paul II - Karol Wojtyla (born on 18 in May in  1920, in Wadowice, died on 2 in April in 2005.). Blessed, a Polish cleric, Cardinal, 262 Pope, Knight of the Order of White Eagle. He was the first pope from Poland. He made 104 trips and visited all the inhabited continents. His pontificate lasted 9,666 days. He died on 2 April 2005 at 21.37, leaving the whole world in mourning. After the death has been called the Great.
 
 
 
 
 
Zośka, Alek, Rudy People who know how to live lovingly and beautifully die
 
Tadeusz Zawadzki „Zośka” Zoska- name Tadeusz Zawadzki, Scoutmaster, the 23rd Warsaw Team of Scouts during the war. Born on 24 February in 1921. Killed in1943 in Sieczychami. Knight's Cross of Military Virtue of the 5th grade, and twice the Cross of Valour. He was a commander in the region of Upper Mokotów organization, Wawer. He was the first commander of the Assault Groups based in the capital, a second lieutenant Army.
 
Aleksy Dawidowski „Alek” Alek-Aleksy Dawidowski,  a member of an underground organization, "Wawer" squad leader Assault Group, which was decorated with the Cross of Military Virtue. Boirn on 3 November in 1920, died in the morning of the 30th March in 1943.
 
Jan Bytnar „Rudy” Rudy-Jan Bytnar, Scoutmaster, member of the underground organization, Wawer, platoon Assault Group, Army lieutenant. Born on 06 May in1921 year, he died killed by the Gestapo on 30 March in 1943 year.

Lech Wałęsa
Lech Walesa (born on 29 September 1943 in Popowo) - Polish politician and union activist, a professional electrician. Co-founder and first chairman of Solidarity, the dissident during the communist era. Polish president in 1990-1995. Man of the Year 1981 by Time magazine and winner of the Nobel Peace Prize (1983).
 
 
Jerzy Popiełuszko
Jerzy Popieluszko (born on  14 September in 1947 in Wloclawek, died on 19 October in 1984 in Wloclawek, Poland) - Polish Roman Catholic priest, chaplain of Warsaw's "Solidarity", murdered by officers of the Security Service of the opposition against the communist system. His pastoral work and teaching based on the message of "Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good". He gained authority and broad public support and popularity. He suffered a martyr's death. He was beatified on 6 June in 2010.
