Exchange equivalent quantities of coins by making fair trades involving combinations of pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters up to one dollar; count out a combination of coins needed to purchase items up to one dollar. <br />Summary: <br />In A Dollar for Penny, Penny opens a pink lemonade stand. She originally prices her lemonade at one penny per glass of pink lemonade. Each day that Penny accrues more business, she ups her price to two cents, a nickel, a dime, a quarter, and fifty cents. She finally has enough money to buy her mother a birthday card for a dollar. I think that this book is appropriate for first grade.
