Proposed title of your workshop and speakers: Ematurity - The Leadership Challenge The activities you will be describing in your workshop: Programmes that BECTA has sponsored that LSIS and BECTA are jointly developing and delivering i.e. Collaborative Leadership in Practice and the new programme to embed the Generator. Other work that LSIS is doing to develop leadership especially in relation to the challenges of ILT and making organisations more emature. How will you interact with the audience and ensure that your session is engaging and interesting to them? There will be a brief presentation outlining the work that LSIS is doing on leadership development in the context of ILT, emphasising the programmes that BECTA is sponsoring which LSIS is designing and delivering. There will then be a round-table discussion exploring the issues associated with implementing ILT strategy and seeking to identify particular challenges and further support needs This will then be collected / fed back. This could help to inform future BECTA / LSIS partnership activity. Despite strong and consistent government support, and some outstanding achievements by some providers, BECTA research indicates that the majority of FE providers have some way to go before they regard themselves as e-mature. To become e-mature an organisation needs to adopt a strategic approach that ensure that: investment in ILT is linked to key business objectives effective practice with ILT is embedded across the organisation technology is used to achieve enduring digital dividends. This workshop will review the BECTA evidence, explore the barriers and outline some leadership approaches to assist organisations to become more e-mature.
