Developing a Nationwide BCM Competency Program
In light of the recent Business Environment in Singapore,
BCM Institute have launched a Competency Building
campaign aimed at raising the level of organisational
preparedness and resiliency by 2010.
The program is open to all Singapore Registered
organisations including government and non-govermental Management Modules
sectors and SMEs. All private organisations are required to DRP 5000 –
submit relevant Organisational BCM statement prior to the Implementing and Managing IT Disaster

Course comprises of 1-day E-learning or 1-day of BCM-240 instructor-led training course. This is followed by 4 half-day instructor-led sessions conducted over
an elapse time period of 2 to 3 months. It is useful for organization to develop its BC plan or review its current BC plans using the BCM Planning Methodology.
This intermediate course enables the participants to use the e-learning modules or classroom instructor-led training to prepare themselves for the
fundamental in business continuity management. This is followed by a 2-day or 4 half-day intensive instructor-led class room sessions. The e-learning modules
are designed and categorized into self-paced learning modules for the participants to establish a basic understanding of the SS540 Singapore BCM
Standard, the BCM framework, policies, guidelines, the BC planning methodology and the other national standards and best practices. The e-learning modules
will complement the instructor-led modules. It is optional that the E-learning module be converted to a one day course if it is conducted in-house.
The 2-day or 4 half-day instructor-led modules will focus on reinforcing the fundamental theories and concepts established through the 1-day BCM-240 course.
Instructors will discuss and demonstrate or relate these concepts to real life practices. The instructors will describe and explain how these concepts are applied

BCM-5000 is an advanced level Business Continuity Management course with a 150-Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) based examination, following the
successful completion of the course. This workshop is primarily designed for advanced professionals who have a high degree of exposure to and
understanding of BCM, such as BC managers, planners, and project managers. It is the institute’s most comprehensive BCM course for those who are new to
BCM or intend to embark on this as his/her BCM professional career. The workshop curriculum will enable participants to get an extremely thorough
understanding of the 7 BCM Body of Knowledge or BCM COK for BCM Practitioners, the globally recognized methodology for implementation and maintenance
of BCM programs. Post the workshop; participants should have acquired the skills and understanding to be able to drive complex BCM programmes and BC

This course is intended for experienced IT disaster recovery (DR) planners. All aspects of IT DR planning will be discussed.
Participants will review the Business Continuity (BC) & DR Planning (DRP) Model and all aspects of creating the DR plan and managing the planning process.
In addition, the course includes sections on exercising and maintaining the DR plan.
