Time Frame
• 5000 to 3000 B.C. along the Nile River, which
flows into the Mediterranean Sea.
• The civilization lasted until 332 B.C.
Location
• Egypt is located in the northeastern corner of
Africa.
Clothing
• The men wore wrap around skirts known as
the Shendyt, which were belted at the waist,
sometimes pleated or gathered in the front.
• Women often wore simple sheath dresses
called kalasiris. The dresses were held up by
one or two straps and were worn down to the
ankle.
Pharaohs
• Important/Powerful.
• Owned Egypt.
• Half Man, Half God
• God Horus, son of Re, the sun god.
• When a pharaoh died he was believed to be
united with the sun and then a new Horus
ruled on earth.
