Welcome to English! Please take out your journal
In your journal, respond to the prompt below. Describe two different ways to organize a piece of writing. When would you use these two?
Today in class… …we will be continue our discussion of organization.
Organization Defined Organization is the structure of the paper. The order should be logical and effective so that the reader hardly thinks about it. The information should be delivered at just the right moment. The introduction should be clear and informative. The body should build to an important point by using supporting details that fit where they are placed. The conclusion should summarize and restate your main point without introducing new information. The ideas should be linked together with smooth transitions.
Patterns of Organization You will break back into your groups and finish identifying your 2-3 types of organization. Once you finish, you will be teaching the class about your material. **Students who were absent should get the notes from a classmate, as these will be on the final exam.
