Duties &Responsibilities
 Preparing Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) & Procedure Qualification Record (PQR).
Witness & Preparation of Welder Qualification Test (WQT) as per relevant codes and
specifications
 Quality control activities like inspection of incoming materials, fabrication welding erection etc.
 Verification of documents for incoming consumables & materials as per applicable Codes &
Specification
 Controlling the welding of joints according to isometric drawings and checking diameter,
thickness, drawing number and class in welding progress report.
 Monitoring welding parameters and implemented GTAW, SMAW welding methods
 Daily joint Fit-Up inspection for proper Root Gap, Bevel angle, checking proper Preheat has
been maintained prior to start of welding, checking with the Isometric Drawing for proper
Orientation and giving clearance for welding
 Responsible for QC activities of shop floor as well as Sites and arranging and providing
support for inspectors at Sub-contractors.
 Maintaining relevant Documents & Reports as per client requirements.
