Since its founding in 1932, Cision, formerly Bacon's Information, has grown along with the communications industries it serves, evolving from its simple start to its present-day status as one of the world’s most extensive media intelligence and information services companies. Burrelle's® Press Clipping Bureau formed in New York City after founder Frank Burrelle overheard two businessmen lament the difficulty of keeping up with the news in the papers. Burrelle and his wife transformed their kitchen table to a press clipping bureau, pulling from New York City newspapers the news of interest to his customers. For this service, Burrelle's charged three cents per clip (newspapers cost two cents back then). The Media List Builder database is refreshed daily with updates from our research staff. Every journalist is checked for accuracy at least once a year, and each contact at major media is checked a minimum of four times a year. Because the media change so quickly, no large media database can be 100% accurate
