‣ How can you help them
‣ How can you share common ground and instill trust
‣ How can you work together to a common goal
Have a Plan
‣ Define what success looks like
‣ Be specific
‣ Write it down
‣ Share it
‣ Start with specific goals in mind
‣ Make a quick “top 5 hit list” of what topics you want to talk about per
month (be flexible)
‣ Delegate with deadline and responsibility clearly defined
‣ Do & Share

‣ Think of all the things you do in your organization, how can you
share the story of:
‣ What you’re working on
‣ Goals and Impacts (statuses, checkins)
‣ Public Education
‣ Public Awareness
‣ Event Updates/Recaps
‣ What you need help with, how others can help
Take it one step at a time...
‣ Review your topic
‣ Create an outline
‣ Write a rough draft
‣ Review it with fresh eyes
(or get someone else to review it)
‣ Include images or video when possible
‣ Add these new content pieces to your website
‣ All at once or one a week (pre-dated)
Sharing on Facebook and Twitter
‣ Once your “top five hit list” content items are on your
website, you’ll want to share these items through your
