Stadium first in honor of the original games
in Greece
The athletes of the countries follow in
alphabetical order by country according to
the spelling in the language of the host

The host countries athletes enter last

The International Olympics Committee
makes the decisions. It is basically the
government of the Olympics
The IOC has to make sure that the host cities
provide housing for athletes and coaches
The IOC chooses the host country and city 7
years in advance to the actual games
5. The Motto and Creed
of the Olympics
“Citius, Altius, Fortius”
Means: Faster, Higher, Stronger
The creed was written by Pierre de Coubertin
it stated:
"The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not to win but to take part, just as the most important
thing in life is not the triumph but the struggle. The essential thing is not to have conquered but to have
fought well."

7. The Summer Games
The summer games are held during the
summer. It depends on when summer occurs
in the host country.
There are 300 separate events
For a new sport to be added, it must be
played in 75 countries on 4 continents for
men
For women, the sport must be played in 40
countries on 3 continents
8. The Winter Games
The winter games are usually held in
February
For a new winter sport to be added, it must
be played in at least 25 countries on 3
continents
It includes 85 events with 2500 athletes
from 80 countries
9. 1932 Games
held in Los Angeles, first games to ever last less
than 79 days, they lasted 16
ever since the 1932 games, all the olympic events
have only last 15-18 days
10. 1936 Games
These games were held in Berlin, and this is where
the lighted torch was introduced
They were also the first games to be broadcasted on
any form of television
These olympic games are known for Hitler’s failed
attempt to prove his theory of Aryan racial
superiority
11. 1972 Games
Soon became known as the Munich Massacre
On September 5, eight palestinian guerrillas,
belonged to an organization called the Black
September Organization, broke in the Olympic
Village and they took eleven of the Israeli athletes,
coaches, and officials, and kept them as hostages in
their apartments.
During a rescue attempt all of the Israeli hostages
were killed.
