Metabolic Cooking – Official Site
Eating healthy doesn’t have to be plain and
boring… At least as far as Dave Ruel and
Karine Losier are concerned!
The idea behind Metabolic Cooking is the
make food that is extremely healthy and
tasty, without losing fat burning capabilities.
In a nutshell, Metabolic Cooking claims to help guys and girls lose fat, increase their metabolism and
improve their overall physique through good nutrition… And very flavorful meals!
Seriously, how many diets or programs have you followed where the food you ate, the nutrition, was
bland and boring?! Quite a few, right?
Chicken and rice… Tuna… Nothing special there.
Metabolic Cooking challenges all that though by providing extrmely healthy meals that are restaurant
quality and pretty easy to make.
So, with that, let’s get started with our Metabolic Cooking review!
Metabolic Cooking Review – What Is It?
First of all, let’s talk about the authors of Metabolic Cooking.
Dave Ruel is a great fitness coach, bodybuilding and fitness enthusiast. He’s written quite a few health
and fitness books including Anabolic Cooking, a favorite of mine and the readers of this site.
Karine Losier is the cooking queen who loves fitness and healthy living. She has a degree in psychology
and really takes an interest in the psychological aspects of weight loss and dieting.
2. All of that comes together in Metabolic Cooking, through advice and recipes that you can use to
transform your physique and ENJOY it! Something that a lot of programs can’t provide…
Metabolic Cooking itself is full of metabolism boosting recipes that follow a complete nutrition
guide. It’s a bit like having your own personal fitness trainer and cook, wrapped into one. Of course,
you’ll still have to do the cooking :0)
The thing I like best is the first 50 pages are dedicated to understanding food and the philosophy of
weight loss and cooking, including something they call the Metabolic Nutri-Profile.
The Nutri-Profile is a collection of recipes using the following primary ingredients. Each has 20-40
recipes depending on the food type:
Breakfast
Chicken and Pultry
Fish and Seafood
Pork
Red Meat
Sides
Smoothies
Snacks
Vegetarian
There are over 200 recipes in total, which is awesome if you like to have good food choices!
Metabolic Cooking Review – What I Like
There are quite a few things I like about Metabolic Cooking. First, the recipes are unique and very high
quality. You won’t find any better in restaurants and they’re generally pretty easy to prepare.
Perhaps more importantly, I like that I can create a meal plan and shopping list quickly and easily. I
know exactly what I’m going to eat for dinner for the week (because my meals during the day are usually
comprised of protein shakes and meal replacement bars…).
All the recipes cater to fat loss, which is key to my own diet plan. I want to maintain muscle density and
definition without sacrificing taste in my one solid meal a day!
Metabolic Cooking Review – What I Don’t Like
If you have a solid meal plan that you follow and it’s working, don’t deviate! I, personally, was looking
for more meal options that were healthy and quick to prepare, which is why I bought it. If you’ve been
following a diet successfully for more than 30 days, and you’re seeing good results, stick with it! No
need to introduce something new unless you’re bored with your meal choices.
3. As far as Metabolic Cooking, I like the program a lot. I wish there was a piece of software or a little app
that generated a shopping list for me, and that might be in the works, but that’s the only complaint I have!
Metabolic Cooking Review – Overall Thoughts
The last four nights, I have cooked out of the Metabolic Cooking recipe book and I love it. It works
ridiculously well. In such a short time, I haven’t noticed any fat loss (or weight gain), but I do know that
I’m enjoying my meals a lot more and they are fun to cook.
After I eat, I have consistent energy levels into the evening which is important for me. I don’t feel too full
or bloated and can function well after I get up from the table.
