2. THE SUN
The word solar stems from the Roman word
for the god of the sun, Sol. Therefore, the
word solar refers to the Sun and “solar power”
is power from the Sun.
The sun provides Earth with 2 major forms
of energy; heat and light.
Both of these forms of energy can be
harnessed and utilized for man's benefit.

3. SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAIC
SYSTEMS
Photovoltaic literally means "light-electricity". It is formed using
'photo' which means light and 'voltaic' which means electrical
current or electricity.
Photovoltaic Panels are are used to transform sunlight energy
into electrical energy. ”PV panel” is the common name for a
photovoltaic panel.
It uses solar cells to produce electricity which is the used
immediately to power many household appliances like
lights,fans,T.V etc.

4. THERMAL SYSTEMS
Solar panels collect heat energy from the sun.
We call this heat 'solar thermal energy.'
It is usually a closed box covered with transparent material such
as glass or plastic which traps the heat entering the box and can
be utilized for heating the house, heating water, cooking etc.
As we know,today the prices of fuels are soaring. What would be
better but to use zero cost solar power instead of LPG for
cooking !?

5. ADVANTAGES OF USING
SOLAR POWER
Solar Energy is a renewable resource.
It reduces our dependence on fossil fuels.
These systems are cheap and easy to install.
Almost no electricity is required in both;maintaining and using
these not too complex devices.

6. MAKE IT SOLAR!
The earth urgently needs our help. Years of
exploitation have drained out most resources
from the earth and it has been damaged
beyond repair.
However,there is still hope . We can still
save our planet and ourselves.

Using wind energy.
Using Hydel energy to generate electricity.
Using biomass energy to generate
electricity.
