  3. Our solutions are driven from the ability to collect broad and detailed information from all elements of infrastructure in the datacentre. Specialized agents are provided to collect data from operating systems, hypervisors, network devices, network storage arrays & databases. We also provide the ability to source both both business and application data and provide solutions to monitor the end user experience being delivered to remote and central locations. This provides the ability to leverage We collect between 300 and 350 pieces of data at a default frequency of 5 seconds, processor information can be collected at a 1 second interval. For physical servers the collection is agent based, for all other systems the data is collected via remote sensing. Data acquisition is designed to limit impact on the infrastructure, therefore data is held local to its collection to limit network load, collection is performed via kernel API or 3rd party API calls to limit overhead, typically we are looking at 50Mb memory, 300Mb disk space and less than 1% of an Intel processor at each collection point.Out of the box we turn raw data into actionable information through the combination of data points. For example, processor saturation is utilization combined with time and number of processes waiting for processor checked against the number of cores available for the hardware. Once the queue is double the number of cores available saturation is detected. The management server also allows customers to create their own meta-metrics bringing together information that is relevant to their business to turn data into actionable information both for performance management as well as capacity.We therefore provide the ability to leverage this complete data view for both real-time performance management as well as near real-time Capacity Management and longer term capacity planning functions. The combination of infrastructure data acquisition, business demand and Application response to demand overlaid with end user experience monitoring provides a full view of the relationship between business, application, virtualization and physical infrastructure.

ITIL beschrijft monitoring als uitgaande van de volgende stappen:Measurement, kortom het meten, dit kan zijn van bepaalde stappen.Het bewaken van de omgeving gebeurt in Sysload met agenten, die gegevens verzamelen. Deze verzamelen bij default gegevens over Hypervisor, OS en Storage. Als je andere gegevens wilt verzamelen dan kun je dit doen door gebruik te maken van SP Studio. Op deze wijze kan je ook Applicatie monitoring instellen.Reporting, het rapporteren van de gemeten waarden. Dit kan real time, maar ook historische rapportage zijn.Het rapporteren kan gebeuren op basis van real time. In Sysload gebeurt dit met behulp van SP Analyst, de data staat lokaal bij de agent. Wil je over langere termijn rapporteren dan kan dit op basis van SP Portal, dan komt de data in een raltionele database. . Op basis van langdurige gegevens kun je ok beslissen of de huidige configuratie optimaal is. Corrective actions, als er een geconstateerde afwijking is van het gewenste patroon, dan kun je automatisch acties laten ondernemen zoals het verwijderen van data uit de temp directory.Je kan met Sysload het normalverwachtegedraginstellen, en alshiervanafgewekenwordtdan kun je alert krijgen.
