2. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products ? For my project I have created a Music Video, Album Artwork and Publicity Poster. In my project I have used many codes and conventions that are seen in music videos of the same genre, such as quirky music and imagery that fits in with the theme of the music. In my project this theme was loneliness. My music video however fitted into a category on Independent music, which allowed me to break some of these conventions to create a “Different” Or “Quirky” video. My inspiration behind the Video came from a Indie Rock band The Maccabees with a song called “First Love”. I also paid homage to Bob Dylan, due to my music choice being quite folky. I achieved this by using lyrics from the track and writing them out on large pieces of card such as seen in his hit single “Subterranean Homesick Blues”. I used this as I wanted to break away from “Studio” videos, that are produced by other people and not the artists. I wanted to create a D.I.Y feel to them piece, relating back to the golden age of folk during the 1970’s. I done this by avoiding the use of tri pods, opting for hand held recording, to keep a authenticity about the piece.

4. “Loud” Name of band in larger font than the album name, to carry a reputation. “LuLu” Present in the picture LuLu Is bigger, showing importance of the main singer. Use of greys, blacks, and browns create a earthy dark feeling. Picture of desolate garage connoting loneliness and abandonment. Coat connoting cold weather, which is associated with loneliness Name again focusing on forgetting and abandonment
5. Font is different to album name font. Also containing Album Out Now, to act as a imperative to buy the album

9. The font used creates a them quirky atmosphere that I hoped to use in my Video.
10. The greys seen in my video are also similar to the colour scheme used in the poster and artwork
11. Use of the same fonts help draw the two texts together, as well as the use of similar images, however one image is central to generate the feeling of importance
