From the Founder’s Desk
Education is the right of
every child but lack of school
support like notebooks, pen-
cil, pens among others, de-
prives many children from
this right. On International
Literacy Day, Aarohan took a
step towards giving govern-
ment school children this
right by launching a highly
innovative campaign called
‘Donate a Notebook’. The aim
of this campaign is to reduce
dropout rate from schools
due to lack of school materi-
als.
The first phase of distribution
was launched in MCD, Khirki
extension covering more than
500 students. "We are very
happy to receive this and we
promise you that we will
attend school regularly." said
children of MCD Primary
School, Hauz Rani Malviya
Nagar.
Select City Walk came for-
ward in support of Aarohan
for this campaign .They gave
7000 sets of pens, pencils,
erasers, sharpeners etc. for
the distribution in schools.
Aarohan has successfully
distributed the stationary in
about 8 schools in Delhi.
The campaign, going strong,
has covered over 30 govern-
ment schools and 25000
children. It will run for a year
and will come to an end on
8th
September 2016.

“Our nation is in a stage of dire need
of sensitization among people who
can make a difference. There is a
considerable gap between policy
implementation and logical outcome.
Students studying in the 10th
or 12th
grade are not able to read simple
sentences.
Just facilitating teaching is not
enough. On the other hand, students
are not motivated enough to go to
school. Through our ‘Donate a Note-
book’ campaign we have made par-
ents think there are people who care
about their children and that all is not
lost. We are glad to have very good
cooperation from MCD for our cam-
paign and we are trying to expand it
to a larger scale.
Also, the students are far away from
being exposed to the world of IT. We
are also taking initiatives to facilitate
computer education to these stu-
dents.
In the long run, we, at Aarohan, wish
to develop a sustainable architecture
of support through a result-oriented
education model and for that, garner-
ing support of all stakeholders is a
necessity.”

Under this campaign, children put stamps on

pledge to remove the societal stigma related
to AIDS . The walk for this cause started from
Aarohan and ended at India Gate.
A lot of people are ostracized from the

Golden Jubilee
On the occasion of Guru Harkrishan Public
School's 50th Year Celebration on 16th Octo-
ber’15, Aarohan was invited as a part of
their exchange program. The event was a
beautiful anecdote to equality, where chil-
dren of the school held hands with children
of Aarohan in participating in their sports
and cultural activities. Events like these help
us in bridging the gap between the privi-
leged and the underprivileged, a necessity in
inclusive development of the country.
Nukkad Naatak
Aarohan organized a street play where
children presented a touching story
‘Ramesh ki Ma’, through which they spread
awareness about dengue. Trained by Mr.
Nimish from Halle Berry Institute, United
Kingdom, Aarohan children gave message
to Jagdamba Camp on keeping their family
safe from dengue mosquitoes. Aarohan
ensured that the children not only spread
awareness, but also thoroughly enjoyed the
exercise.

color of their blood is the same. “
Ms. Aarti Dawar Sud, Counselor, Aarohan
In the capitalist world today, some, among
the most endowed, dutifully give back to
society what they have. Aarohan is extremely
proud to announce its association with top
corporates ad thank them for their efforts.
GODREJ
In order to protect children against the cold
winters and spread the message of ‘Warm
Hugs’, Godrej Ezee embarked on ‘Rahaat - Ek
Abhiyaan' through a woolen wear collection
drive in Delhi. With Aarohan, as their sole
partner, they began distributing 45000 wool-
en clothes to underprivileged children in
various parts of North India.
DELOITTE
Deloitte has continued to show its constant
support with volunteers by taking workshops
on career counseling and English speaking
every second Saturday of the month. With a
personalized approach, the children are gain-
ing a lot of confidence and are feeling a spark
of empowerment. 27th
November 2015 was
celebrated as Impact Day, with 90 volunteers
from Deloitte organizing a drawing competi-
tion for the Aarohan kids on various themes
followed by a talent hunt. Such a productive
association with a top corporate house gives
us a new perspective to our skill development
initiatives.

CHRISTMAS
On 24th
December 2015, Aarohan celebrated
Christmas with students from its centers
across the city. Aarohan, in association with
Hyatt Hotels, Coca Cola Company and Chick-
ens of Ludhiana organized the celebration in
Mahila Park, Malviya Nagar where small gifts
distributed by our very own Santa and perfor-
mances by Aarohan’s own children marked a
delightful winter morning for volunteers and
the audience alike. In addition, students from
Indian Institute of Foreign Trade who are
working with Aarohan as a part of their NGO
internship program, volunteered to help in
the organization of the event at the venue.
