2. The World
• Students are given free rein to create a world that they
think would be enjoyable/acceptable to live in. This
may mean changing the environment (a world under
water/ on an environmentally friendly island). It may
mean changing human attitudes (a world of
peace/respect)
• The World is to be created in Flash animation and has
been preceded by a short formative unit of Flash
animation skills training. The world will be explored
from the perspective of a narrative story, with the
possibility of moral messages being related to the
target audience
3. First Task
• Put together a list of desirable features of your new world.
• A few starting ideas to consider:
– Politics (will it be a Democracy? Or have you got a better idea?)
– Economy (what will the currency be? Will you need money?)
– Environment (where is it? Under the sea? On a cloud? Space?)
– Entertainment (what will people do for fun?)
– Social activities (what will people do to interact with each
other?
– Responsibilities of citizens
• Decide on a short story with different characters, which will
allow people to learn more about the world through their
interactions and the events of the story.
