2. IEEE Student Branch TEI Piraeus
History of the Student Branch
In September 2010, Anaxagoras Fotopoulos sent an
email to IEEE in order to establish a Student Branch. A
few days later a small group of students met with IEEE
Greece Student Activities Chair, Kostas Karpouzis. As a
result a joint effort began in TEI Piraeus. By November
2010 we managed to have the minimum required
members for the establishment. In December 2010
another group of Student independently from the
previous effort started to establish a Student Branch.
The two groups joined their forces and finally an
application of 31 people was sent to IEEE MGA Board.
The application was approved and the Student Branch
was founded at 7 March 2011.
