NORYN Patton High School International Club collected school supplies for a primary school in Haturia, a remote village in Bangladesh.
We collected over a thousand pencils; enough supplies for a student body of 350 students to use for 2 years.

School Supply Drive for a Rural School in Bangladesh

2. Patton International Club collected school supplies for a
primary school in a remote village called Haturia in
Bangladesh from October to November 2009.
Tin shed school with one hallway, the students needed
basic school supplies. Patton collected pencils, crayons,
notebooks and sharpeners and raised funds.
Haturia Ghata Khanda Model Primary School was
established in 1943 and renovated 1969.
A small rural primary school located in village called
Haturia, district Shariatpur about 6o miles from
Bangladesh capital city Dhaka.
On behalf of Patton International Club, Noryn Alam, a 10th
grade student took the initiative and delivered the school
supplies on November 29, 2009.
25. Patton International Club’s Haturia School Supply Drive
2009 was a success! Now 350 students have enough basic
supplies to last for a over a year.
Special thanks to all the students and faculty of Patton
High School for their support.
Especially: Mrs. Vanecko, Mrs. Arrowood, Mr. McCloy, and
Mrs. Alexander. Principal Mr. Davis was very gracious to
allow the school supply drive at Patton High School.
Thanks to Mr. Shamsur Rahman, MD Bay Industries of
Bangladesh for delivering the school supplies.
Next Year we are planning to collect basic supplies for
Haturia’s orphanage (see pictures of boys living quarter)
