David Alfaro Siqueiros (1896-1974),who painted Ejercicio Plástico, was one of
the leading Mexican muralists. The mural was painted for his love, passion
and muse Blanca Luz Brum in the basement poker room of the mansion
of a publishing tycoon, Natalio Botana, who reigned in the political and cultural
hothouse of 1930s Buenos Aires.
On the project, Siqueiros used innovative techniques - applying industrial
paints on concrete, taking photographs, using a projector and airbrush . The
artist searched for a cinematic effect in the swirling, medusa-like nudes
floating about on the walls, the floor, and the ceiling. The work was completed
by December 1933.
By the time he created Ejercicio Plástico Siqueiro’s relationship with Blanca
had cooled down. Fearing he could lose her forever, after portraying her in the
mural, he said:
'I am painting you, I am glorifying you, I am possessing you. You are mine
forever.'

Ana Solers Mustang gallery in Alicante, Spain Cause and consequence The work intends to reflect how every single decision we make in our lives depicts and provokes a three-dimensional map of roads and tracks. It complies with stopping time, and thinking that every move we make carries on with a consequence. Depending on where and how to hit you get one outcome or another, and so on our life takes a certain path or else. In the end, life, when seen in its complexity, is like an elaborate map of tangled paths, which challenge the human being itself and its context. We say: Balls. Lots of tennis balls. Find the missing nouns in the mural
Instructions 1 Each student or group chooses a number. 2 Behind each number there’s a task or the treasure the teacher has prepared for the students. 3 The storm, the island, the pirate, the compass also hide a tongue twister, a riddle, a memory game or a brainteaser + the teacher provides a clue as to where the treasure is located. 4 The winner is the student/group that finds the treasure. Brainteaser: A man went to Paris and bought something expensive. He then went out and gave it to a series of total strangers who, in turn, each handed it back to him. What was it? Riddle: Give it food and it will live; give it water and it will die. Tongue twister: Around the rugged rocks the ragged rascal ran. Memory: song: You’re Beautiful J Blunt My life is brilliant. My life is brilliant. My love is pure. I saw an angel. Of that I'm sure. She smiled at me on the subway. She was with another man. But I won't lose no sleep on that, 'Cause I've got a plan.
