3. The Guardian http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/2009/oct/09/zombieland-review This review is written by Peter Bradshaw and has a 4/5 star rating. Bradshaw quotes that the film is a ‘very enjoyable new horror comedy’ He bases it’s success upon the interesting main character played by Jesse Eisenberg. He plays a typical nerd with an OCD in rules for survival. He is socially frigid and has an irrational fear of social contact. After falling for a girl his chances are ruined by the brute he has been teamed up with- "You are like a giant, cock-blocking robot developed in some kind of secret fucking government lab!“ This character is one created for us to laugh at, sympathise with and relate to and according to Bradshaw, it is what seems to make the movie successful.
4. Screen Rant http://screenrant.com/zombieland-reviews-vic-28806/ This review is written by Vic Holtreman and is a 4/5 star rated film. Vic believes that both the plot , characters and stars are what make this film a success. He believes the wring is outstanding and the humour and fantastic. He believes it lives up to the most famous humour horror film ‘- Shaun of the dead and that although it is less scary it has more gore however Shaun of the dead had a more dry British humour compared to Zombieland. Overall it was a positive review however he did not agree that the dialogue of Jesse was correct. That a self conscience quiet nerd would be dropping the ‘f-bombs’ and that it was clearly for comedy use only.
5. The critical critics http://thecriticalcritics.com/review/2009/10/02/movie_review-zombieland.html This review is written by ‘General Disdain’ and is given a 4 star rating. He says the movie is a success due to ‘first time movie director Ruben Fleischer and screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick’ who are able to easily switch gears between genres. ‘Fleischer manages to keep it fresh with inventive camera angles and dispatching methods only once in a while crossing the line of “Jesus Christ, that was sick.’ He enjoys the gore and the comedy and how the character's personalities are revealed as the film goes on.
