1. He Is King of Kings!

2. { God-Moments
 This usually means a special time when it is clear that God has
intervened and shown Himself in an exceptional way.

3. The God-moment of
{ Nebuchadnezzar
 Nebuchadnezzar reigned Babylonian Empire during 605 – 562 B.C.
 One night he had a dream!

4. { The interpretation of the dream
 He summoned the magicians and enchanters of his palace and
commanded to tell the interpretation of the dream without hearing
what he had dream.
 They were embarrassed and said, "There is not a man on earth who can
do what the king asks! No king, however great and mighty, has ever
asked such a thing of any magician or enchanter or astrologer‛ (Daniel
2:10).
 This made the king so furious that he ordered to kill all the wise men of
Babylon.

5. { But, look! How bold Daniel was!
 Daniel was never frightened. Instead he simply asked the king for
some time.
 It’s the difference between the life of a Christian and that of a non-
Christian.

6. { The mystery was revealed to Daniel.
 Daniel 2:19, 'During the night the mystery was revealed to Daniel in
a vision.' (그 날 밤 환상 가운데 그 비밀이 다니엘에게 나타났다.)
 It was a God-moment for Daniel

7. { Daniel praised God.
 ‚Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power
are his. He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up
others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.
He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in
darkness, and light dwells with him. I thank and praise you, God of my
ancestors: You have given me wisdom and power, you have made
known to me what we asked of you, you have made known to us the
dream of the king.‛
 “하나님에게 지혜와 능력이 있으니 그의 이름을 영원히 찬양하라 그는 때와 시대
를 바꾸시며 왕을 세우고 폐하시며 지혜로운 자에게 지혜를 주시고 총명한 자에
게 지식을 주시는 분이시다. 그는 깊고 은밀한 일을 드러내시며 어둠 속에 감추
어진 것을 아시고 빛 가운데 계신다. 내 조상들의 하나님이시여, 내가 주께 감사
하고 주를 찬양합니다. 주께서는 나에게 지혜와 능력을 주시고 우리의 기도에 응
답하셔서 왕의 꿈에 대한 비밀을 알게 하셨습니다.”

8. { God's Sovereignty
 God's Sovereignty over times and seasons, the rulers of the earth,
and darkness.
 He rules supremely over all. No person, no angel, no demon, no
circumstance of life can change His plan, because God is sovereign
over all!

9. { He took this opportunity!
 Now Daniel was brought into the presence of the king. But he did
not simply talk the dream and its interpretation. He took this
opportunity and talked about God.
 Daniel 2:28,29 Daniel replied, "No wise man, enchanter, magician or
diviner can explain to the king the mystery he has asked about, but
there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries. He has shown King
Nebuchadnezzar what will happen in days to come.‛
 “그 어떤 점장이와 마법사와 무당과 점성가도 대왕께서 물으신 신비스러운 일을
설명할 수가 없습니다. 그러나 그 비밀을 밝힐 수 있는 하나님이 하늘에 계십니
다. 그분이 앞으로 일어날 일을 왕에게 보여 주셨습니다.”

10. { The great statue
 ‚The head of the statue was made of pure gold, its chest and arms of
silver, its belly and thighs of bronze, its legs of iron, its feet partly of iron
and partly of baked clay. While you were watching, a rock was cut out, but
not by human hands. It struck the statue on its feet of iron and clay and
smashed them. Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver and the gold
were broken to pieces at the same time and became like chaff on a
threshing floor in the summer. The wind swept them away without leaving
a trace. But the rock that struck the statue became a huge mountain and
filled the whole earth‛ (Daniel 2:32-35).
 “그 머리는 순금이고 가슴과 팔은 은이며 배와 넓적다리는 놋이요 다리는 철
이었습니다. 그리고 그 발은 일부분이 철이며 일부분은 진흙으로 되어 있었
습니다. 대왕께서 그 신상을 보고 계실 때 사람이 손도 대지 않았는데 산에서
큰 돌 하나가 날아와 철과 진흙으로 된 발을 쳐서 부숴 버렸습니다. 그러자
철과 진흙과 놋과 은과 금이 일시에 다 부서져서 여름철 타작 마당의 겨와 같
이 되어 바람에 다 날아가버리고 흔적조차 없어졌으며 그 신상을 친 돌은 하
나의 큰 산이 되어 온 세상을 가득 채웠습니다”(단 2:32-35).

11. { The great statue
 Head - fine gold
 Chest and arms - silver
 Belly – brass
 Legs - iron
 Feet – iron & clay.
 A stone "not cut by hands"
struck the statue on its feet of
iron and clay, and crushed them.

12. { Daniel is giving the interpretation
 “You, O king, are the king of kings. The God of heaven has given
you dominion and power and might and glory; in your hands he
has placed mankind and the beasts of the field and the birds of the
air. Wherever they live, he has made you ruler over them all. You
are that head of gold.” (Dan 2:37,38).
 “왕이시여, 대왕께서는 세상의 모든 왕들
중에서도 가장 위대한 왕이십니다. 이것
은 하늘의 하나님이 왕에게 나라와 권세
와 능력과 영광을 주셨기 때문입니다. 하
나님이 왕에게 온 세상 사람들과 심지어
들짐승과 공중의 새들까지 다스리게 하
셨으므로 그 신상의 금 머리는 바로 왕이
십니다” (단 2:37,38).

13. A great shock to the king
{ Nebuchadnezzar
 His words must have been a great
shock to the king Nebuchadnezzar.
Until then he had thought he had
become a king by his own merit.
 Now he could not deny what
Daniel had said, because Daniel
had revealed every secret of his
dream.

14. { The breast of the statue: Medo-Persian kingdom
 "After you, another kingdom will rise, inferior to yours. Next, a
third kingdom, one of bronze, will rule over the whole earth.‛ (Dan
2:39).
 “왕의 다음에는 왕의 나라보다 못한 다른 한 나라가 일어날 것이며 그 다음 세 번
째에는 놋과 같은 나라가 일어나서 온 세계를 다스릴 것입니다” (단 2:39).

15. { The belly of brass: the Greek empire
 The Greek age of Alexander the Great.
 The brass which formed the belly extended to the thighs. Alexander
the Great built a kingdom extending both to the East and the West.

16. { Legs of iron: Rome
 ‚Finally, there will be a fourth kingdom, strong as iron--for iron breaks
and smashes everything--and as iron breaks things to pieces, so it will
crush and break all the others. Just as you saw that the feet and toes were
partly of baked clay and partly of iron, so this will be a divided kingdom;
yet it will have some of the strength of iron in it, even as you saw iron
mixed with clay. As the toes were partly iron and partly clay, so this
kingdom will be partly strong and partly brittle. And just as you saw the
iron mixed with baked clay, so the people will be a mixture and will not
remain united, any more than iron mixes with clay.‛ (Dan 2:40-43)
 “그리고 마지막으로 네 번째 일어날 나라는 철처럼 강력한 나라가 될 것입니다.
철이 다른 모든 물건을 부수고 박살내듯이 그 나라가 세상의 모든 나라를 쳐서
부숴 버릴 것입니다. 대왕께서는 그 발과 발가락이 일부는 진흙으로 되었고 또
일부는 철로 된 것을 보셨는데 이것은 그 나라가 나누어질 것을 뜻합니다. 그러
나 대왕께서 보신 대로 거기에는 철과 진흙이 섞여 있었으므로 그 나라에는 철처
럼 강한 점도 있을 것입니다. 그 발가락이 일부는 철이요 일부는 진흙으로 되었
다는 것은 그 나라의 일부는 강하고 일부는 약한 것을 뜻하며 또 이것은 사람들
이 서로 다른 인종과 섞일 것이나 철이 진흙과 합해지지 않는 것처럼 그들이 하
나로 결속되지 못할 것을 뜻합니다”(단 2:40-43).

17. { The great statue’s meaning
Head of God Babylon 606-539 B.C.
Chest & Arms Medo-Persia 539-331 B.C.
of Silver
Belly & Thighs Greece 331-169 B.C.
of Bronze
Legs of Iron Rome 169-476 B.C.

18. Part of the feet and toes were iron
{ and part were clay: present age
 "In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that
will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush
all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure
forever. This is the meaning of the vision of the rock cut out of a mountain,
but not by human hands--a rock that broke the iron, the bronze, the clay,
the silver and the gold to pieces. "The great God has shown the king what
will take place in the future. The dream is true and the interpretation is
trustworthy." (Dan. 2:44,45)
 “그리고 여러 왕들이 나라를 통치하는 시대에 하늘의 하나님이 영원히 멸망하지
않을 한 나라를 세우실 것입니다. 그 나라는 결코 정복 당하지 않을 것이며 세상
의 모든 나라를 쳐서 멸망시키고 영원히 존속할 것입니다. 대왕께서는 사람이 손
도 대지 않았는데 산에서 떨어진 돌(뜨인돌)이 날아와 철과 놋과 진흙과 은과 금
을 쳐서 부수뜨린 것을 보셨습니다. 이것은 크신 하나님이 장차 일어날 일을 왕
에게 보여 주신 것입니다. 제가 왕에게 말씀드린 꿈과 해몽은 확실하고 믿을 만
합니다.”

19. The rock which was cut out in
{ heaven
 A rock not by human hands breaks the iron, the bronze, the clay, the
silver and the gold to pieces.
 The rock crushes all human kingdoms and brings them to an
end, but it will endure forever.
 This rock refers to Jesus Christ.
 Matt 21:42 "The stone the builders rejected has become the
capstone‛ (“건축자들의 버린 돌이 모퉁이의 머릿돌이 되었나니”).

20. { We are living in the last era.
 Daniel saw it all through a vision 2,600 years ago.
 But now we see most of the prophecies have already fulfilled as
predicted.
 There was a kingdom of Babylon, and then Medo-Persia, and then
Greece, and then Rome, and now we are living in the last era just
before the Rock Jesus Christ would build His Kingdom.

21. The God-moment of king
{ Nebuchadnezzar
 "Surely your God is the God of gods and the Lord of kings and a
revealer of mysteries‛ (Dan 2:47).
 “참으로 너희 하나님은 모든 신들의 신이시며 모든 왕들의 주가 되시고 비밀을
밝혀내는 분이시구나”(단 2:47).
 This was the moment when the pagan king acknowledged and praised
our God.

22. { He’s forgotten the first God-moment
 ‚Is this not Babylon the great, which I myself have built as a royal
residence by the might of my power and for the glory of my
majesty?‛
 “이 큰 바빌론성은 영광과 위엄을 과시하기 위해서 내가 내 능력과 권세로 건설
한 이 나라의 수도가 아닌가!”

23. { Pride goes before destruction
 While the word was in the king’s mouth, a voice came from heaven, saying,
‘King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is declared: sovereignty has been
removed from you, and you will be driven away from mankind, and your
dwelling place will be with the beasts of the field. You will be given grass to
eat like cattle, and seven periods of time will pass over you until you
recognize that the Most High is ruler over the realm of mankind and
bestows it on whomever He wishes.’ Immediately the word concerning
Nebuchadnezzar was fulfilled; and he was driven away from mankind and
began eating grass like cattle, and his body was drenched with the dew of
heaven until his hair had grown like eagles’ feathers and his nails like birds’
claws (ver 31-33).
 “이 말이 미처 끝나기도 전에 하늘에서 이런 음성이 들려왔다. '느부갓네살왕아,
내가 하는 말을 들어라. 너의 왕권은 너에게서 떠났다. 네가 인간 사회에서 쫓겨
나 7년 동안 들짐승과 함께 살며 소처럼 풀을 먹을 것이다. 그러면 너는 가장 높
으신 하나님이 인간 나라를 다스리시며 누구에게든지 그가 원하는 자에게 나라
를 준다는 사실을 알게 될 것이다.’그 말이 나 느부갓네살왕에게 즉시 이루어져
나는 인간 사회에서 쫓겨나 소처럼 풀을 먹으며 몸은 하늘의 이슬에 젖고 머리털
은 독수리털처럼 되었으며 내 손톱은 새 발톱처럼 되었다”(31-33절)

24. { King Neb chose to look up to God
 The ruler of the world became a beast in the forest for 7 years!
 But our God is still gracious. After 7 years, when King Neb chose to
look up to God. After 7 years living as a beast, he finally decides to
acknowledge God's Sovereignty. After 7 years of suffering, he
finally seeks God's help.
 Just at that spur of moment when the king chose to acknowledge
the Sovereign God, God restored king Neb's position.
 Once again the king experienced God-Moment.

25.  King Neb then praised God Then I praised the Most High; I honored and
glorified him who lives forever.
 그래서 나 느부갓네살은 지금 하늘의 왕을 찬양하며 높이고 그분에게 영광을 돌
리고 있다.
 His dominion is an eternal dominion; his kingdom endures from
generation to generation. All the peoples of the earth are regarded as
nothing. He does as he pleases with the powers of heaven and the peoples
of the earth. No one can hold back his hand or say to him: ‚What have you
done?‛ At the same time that my sanity was restored, my honor and
splendor were returned to me for the glory of my kingdom. My advisers
and nobles sought me out, and I was restored to my throne and became
even greater than before. Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and
glorify the King of heaven, because everything he does is right and all his
ways are just. And those who walk in pride he is able to humble. (Dan 4:34-
37).
 '그는 영원히 다스리시며 그의 나라는 대대로 지속될 것이다. 그는 세상의 모든
사람들을 아무것도 아닌 것처럼 여기시며 하늘에 있는 천사들이나 땅에 있는 사
람에게 자기 뜻대로 행하시니 그의 뜻을 거역하거나 그가 행하시는 일을 물어 볼
자가 아무도 없구나. 내가 이성을 되찾게 되었을 때 내 명예와 위엄과 내 나라의
영광이 나에게 되돌아왔으며 내 신하들과 귀족들이 나를 영접하고 나는 다시 왕
위에 앉아 이전보다 더 큰 영광을 누리게 되었다. 그래서 나 느부갓네살은 지금
하늘의 왕을 찬양하며 높이고 그분에게 영광을 돌리고 있다. 그는 진실하고 의로
운 일을 행하시며 교만한 자를 낮추시는 분이시다.

26. { What can we learn from this story?
 I believe most of us here have had multiple God-Moments in our
lives. When God reveals His Sovereignty, we are awed, we are
humbled, we are amazed.
 How long does the God-Moment last? King Neb witnessed the
power of God, but he soon forgot. Do we see king Neb in us? We
experience His Sovereign power over our lives and we soon forget.
 Are we living a life of abundance? Or are we living a life that is like
king Neb in the forest like a beast?

27. { Let your God-Moment come alive.
 Let your God-Moment come alive. And ask God to help us to live
every moment with the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, so every
moment becomes God-Moment.
