Over the years T-Xchange has done several Serious Games for Urban and Spatial Development. In this presentation I explain why T-Xchange feels that Serious Gaming can speed up the planning process while involving more stakeholders, leading to better plans.

Public officials are very reluctant to give up power
Fun is important aspect of (serious) games, even-though project-
partners disagree on this
The players/stakeholders are willing to accept fun and
randomness such as throwing dices
The game combined with visualisations of models seems an
effective method to deal with multi-stakeholder problems
