Please note that with any cloud program, it changes over time. Prezi has undergone a number of transformations
over the past few years. Use of cloud technology may be analogous to renting an automobile. Once you are
familiar with one, it is a matter of experience and comfort to find the lights, windshield wiper, radio, and turn
signals. Your journey begins when you jump in and drive.
Prezi provides a tool to present photographs, documents, YouTube video, presentation slides, and narration in a
robust way.

Prezi –Workshop.
Prezi is a presentation tool based in the cloud. It provides an opportunity for zooming presentations
and an easy way to add details and enhance content .
Sign up for an Account:
Please sign up for an account at
http://www.prezi.com. Use your broward.edu
email address as you an upgraded educational
version that has some additional features and
storage space. Click on try Prezi Free or Sign
Up. Prezi changes their introductory screens
frequently.
Choose your Prezi License - Click on
the bottom of the screen that says
student and teacher licenses –
Educational Licenses. You will use
your Broward.edu email to login.
Select the Edu Enjoy which is free if
you have an .edu email.

Follow the prompts to create your login.
Please enter the details about Broward College,
Fort Lauderdale, FL and website address
http://www.broward.edu
You may be required to verify your email
address. Go to http://owa.broward.edu and
login with your username and password. Open
the email and click on the link to verify your
email. You are ready to begin learning Prezi.

Creating your first Prezi
Log into Prezi.
Click on New Prezi either in upper right corner or your screen or in the center of your screen.
You will have the option to choose your template.
This is all a matter of style, preference, and your
audience. Please keep in mind your requirements for
your presentation. At this stage to review the
features of Prezi; choose a blank Prezi.

Below is what your template will look like. It is ready now for you to create your first Prezi and you may
edit the template as you wish. The area where you work in Prezi is called your canvas.
Insert Menu:
At the top of the screen you have Insert menu.
This allows you to add images, symbols, You Tube
video’s, content you have stored in Prezi, layouts
or favorite layouts, draw arrow, lines, add music,
.pdf files, and PowerPoint. By Clicking on each of
these a menu of choices will appear on the right
side of your screen.
Note that you may add PowerPoint slides directly
from the .ppt file. However, be aware that the
styles of PowerPoint will change to a white
background. In PowerPoint, you may save your
file to a .jpg or .png format in selecting Save AS
which will preserve your background format.

Customize Menu:
The Customize menu allows you to change
themes, upload your own background, and
customize your theme with advanced
features.
Frames Menu:
On the left side of the screen is frames
menu. You have the choice of a circle,
bracket, rectangle, or invisible frame.

Frames and Text:
Click to add Text. Write My First Prezi. Note your options in the menu. Take some time to create a
title, subtitle, body, increase and decrease font, change font color, highlight, bullet, and text orientation.
You may add a second line of text as indicate below. Create a subtitle using bullets and changing the
font color.
Please check that once you add text; you have the option to edit, add to favorites (frames), or delete.
The + and – signs allows you to increase or decrease the size of your frame.

Now you may add a rectangle frame. Go
to the left side of your screen and drop
down to rectangle and click on the
rectangle when it appears with an X in the
center. You may add it your canvas.
Choose the option to Zoom to Frame.
Right click on the frame to add text –

Create a third frame. Add an Image. Use the insert menu and click on a stock image in the menu.
Note that you may also upload images as well. Note the options in the menu also include an editing tool
in effects and a cropping tool.
Adding a You Tube Video: Copy the link from the You Tube video that you would like to insert - click on
You Tube on the menu and insert the hyperlink. Note paid advertising will still appear from Google.

Styles and Layout Menus:
Edit Path:
On the right side of your screen is the current
order of slides. By clicking on Edit Path you may
order your slides, delete the order, and add a
current view. The Current view allows you to
zoom into a photo or particular text for emphasis.
You may also drag and drop the slides into view.

Sharing and Presenting Prezi.
Sharing Prezi allows you to keep
it private, hidden (only those
with the link), or make it public
and searchable.
Presenting remotely provides
you a link that you may share and
demonstrate to 30 people while
on a conference phone call.
You may share on Facebook,
download your Prezi in a .pdf,
and download a portable Prezi if
an internet connection is
unavailable.
Presenting Prezi you may control
the slides or set the slides
automatically to change at 4, 10,
or 20 second intervals.

Exercise - New Prezi
Click on a New Prezi
Bottom right open a blank Prezi
Delete the Circle and add a frame for first slide
Add Text
Create a second slide – add a picture and text to it. Zoom in to point out a feature of the
picture (remember to put the frame around it.)
Create a third slide – imbed a you tube video
Create a fourth slide – link – drag in a symbol or shape
Insert a diagram – edit it.
Create a few PowerPoint slides and add them to your Prezi
Add some music – download from http://www.archive.org
Animate a couple of slides
Run it and share it.
