• Good CLT design starts at the very beginning – the project must be
designed with CLT in mind rather than changing CLT to fit existing
design
• Things to consider;
– Panel sizes vs. manufacturer’s standard production sizes
– ‘nesting’ i.e. optimisation of the panels in relation to the
‘master’ panels => minimise waste
– Top lamella orientation and quality
– Handling on site, including building sequence
– Logistics

• CLT can be loaded either horizontally or vertically,
subject to local road/rail restrictions
• There are several container lines sailing from Europe
to SEA; typically containers to Australia are
transhipped either at Singapore, Malaysia or Hong
Kong
• Delivery time 7-14 days from stuffing the containers at
the mill to sailing from an European port
