2. What is a relic? An object , custom etc, that has survived from the past. A souvenir, ruins or remains – industrial or architectural A relic is either part of the physical remains of a holy person after his or her death, or an object which has been in contact with his or her body. The most important relic is that of the Cross of Jesus Christ, which is traditionally held to have been discovered by St. Helena during her famous pilgrimage to the Holy Land in 326. The veneration of relics is found in many religions and is rooted in the natural human instinct to treat with reverence anything connected with those we love who have died.

8. The Shroud of Turin (or the Holy Shroud) is an old linen cloth bearing the image of a man who appears to have been physically traumatized in a manner consistent with crucifixion. It is now kept in the royal chapel of the Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist in Turin, Italy. It is believed to be the cloth that covered Jesus of Nazareth when he was placed in his tomb and that his image was somehow recorded on its fibers at or near the time of his proclaimed resurrection.
