2. Having a closer look…
• After looking closely at the results of my
survey aimed at my target audience I am
slowly becoming happy with the amount of
different choices and options that are
available to me that can be included in the
music video I am going to create.
3. The main target audience…
• From this survey I have learnt that my main
target audience are those aged 15-18, this is
because the results enabled me to see who was
most interested in pop music and r&b.
4. The artist doesn’t always need to be
seen!
• Another thing I have learnt is that the artist
doesn't always need to feature within the
video, it is not a vital part and does not cause
the video to become any less interesting and
does not draw attention from the artists
themselves.
5. Out of the ordinary…
• The responses also taught me however, that
the most likely thing to be seen in a music
video is clubbing, which has inspired me to do
something different than what it is the
audience expect- however, still keeping the
conventions that they want and appreciate.
6. Inspiring!
• The fact that people watch music video's
mostly on You Tube encourages me that they
actually watch the video, rather than have it
on in the background for entertainment, for
example whilst cooking. This causes me to
want to create something exceptional where
the audience would not want to take their
eyes off of the video itself.
7. ‘Nothing but the beat’.
• I have ensured that I have chosen a song with
a catchy and upbeat tone to it, because those
who answered the survey allowed me to think
that the beat of the song is the most
appealing and distinctive part of a music
video- this beat can also help me create
something different however still including
what the audience want.
8. No cautions!
• Because the audience voted that they watch
music video's more often during the day
rather than any other time I shall ensure that
every inch of the video is suitable for viewers
of all ages, however will be aimed at the
target audience of 15-18.
